Job Description The Sr. Manager of Global Philanthropy reports to the Director, Global Engagement & Giving (“Director”) and is responsible for developing, executing and maintaining innovative philanthropic programs through AbbVie and the AbbVie Foundation. As well, s/he is tasked with developing and managing strategic initiatives that drive employee engagement and corporate reputation in support of AbbVie’s strategic business goals. Under the Director’s leadership, this position manages working groups of teammates, laterally and cross-functionally, in the execution of CR/GP strategies, many with high visibility among internal senior leadership. S/he works in close collaboration with internal departments and non-profit organizations, as appropriate, to ensure alignment and transparency of efforts, performing daily oversight of key activities, budgets and processes. Duties will include collaboration with global colleagues to ensure alignment with global CSR objectives. Responsibilities + Develops and oversees assigned philanthropic programs (e.g. education-related engagement programs like Week of Possibilities, SEEK program, STEM Challenge, Employee Giving Programs and AbbVie Foundation Matching Grant Program) + Responsible for budgetary oversight and spend management for assigned Corporate and Foundation programs + Independently builds and leads effective working groups that include lateral and cross-functional members, and coordinates all internal and external functions (e.g., Communications, Legal, Business Services Group, outside vendors and grantees) required to successfully execute philanthropic initiatives. Such programs may be wide scale and complex in nature (e.g. Week of Possibilities, Employee Giving Campaign). + Assists CR/GP leadership in strategy development, ensuring activities and projects align to the strategic objectives of the function + Exhibits critical, creative and strategic thinking with insights and recommendations regarding key projects and effectively utilizes all available resources to maximize productivity, motivate team and encourage innovation + Represents team and liaises with cross-functional partners around non-CR/GP sponsored employee initiatives (Employee Resource Group activities, New Employee Orientation, Vitality fairs) to ensure support appropriate alignment with and leveraging of those initiatives + Ensures programmatic compliance with all relevant internal and external policies, procedures and laws. Serves as point of contact for assigned grants, managing grantee accountability and measuring programmatic outputs and impacts + Ensures global employee engagement and collaboration and support across all geographic regions – Latin America (LATAM), Western Europe and Canada (WEC), Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa (EEMEA), Japan, Asia and China (JAPAC) and United States (US) + Collaborates with corporate communications team to develop and execute communications plans to raise awareness of the AbbVie’s CSR strategy and AbbVie’s reputation + Establishes and maintains effective relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders and non-profit organizations. Represents AbbVie externally at community events, ceremonies, media opportunities and/or national conferences, occasionally, through public speaking engagements Qualifications + BS or BA Degree or Equivalent + Requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience + Strong communication abilities including presentation, verbal, and written skills Able to effectively handle multiple priorities at once, often under significant time constraints Strong leadership abilities and proven ability to manage budget programs and multiple agencies Additional Information Applicable only to applicants applying to a position in any location with pay disclosure requirements under state or local law: ​ ​ + The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
