Job Description

Join Takeda as an Associate Director, Market Access and Channel Strategy, US Patient and Market Access out of our Cambridge or Lexington, MA office (Cambridge preferred). This role will support the US Rare Diseases and/or Plasma-Derived Therapies Business Unit(s). As an Associate Director of Market Access and Channel Strategy, you will be responsible for value story development, payer/PBM contracting strategy, pricing, specialty pharmacy and distribution plans, and payer/channel marketing resources for in-line and pipeline products. You will also develop and oversee sustainable US market access and channel strategies that will allow patients to gain access to Takeda’s existing and future products.

pricing, specialty pharmacy and distribution plans, reimbursement and
payer/channel marketing resources for in-line and pipeline productsEnsure close collaboration with other Managed Markets and Patient Services
colleagues along with Medical, HEOR, Marketing, Finance, Analytics and Sales
teams to capture relevant payer and channel insights, identify data gaps, develop compelling value propositions and ensure field-based teams are equipped with the right toolsUnderstand the reimbursement landscape and incorporate knowledge into
market access & pricing strategyCollaborate with HEOR in the development of payer evidence needs and ensure it is integrated into the Medical/HEOR evidence planAlign within the organization on metrics to assess impacts of key market access strategies and tacticsManage and execute payer and channel specific marketing plans to achieve
patient and business objectivesContribute to the annual brand planning, forecasting, and budgeting process to represent payer and channel customer segments and ensures brand plans
incorporate the needs of patients, payers, and healthcare providersPartner with New Product Planning and Business Development functions to
inform market access inputs and strategies for early stage/targeted assetsIdentify, as appropriate, opportunities for innovative arrangements based on
brand strategies in collaboration with other functional areasOversee all payer and channel market research for relevant products

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in related field required; MBA, PharmD, or MS in health sciences related field preferred8+ plus years of experience in biopharma market access, health economics and outcomes research, or directly within a payer organization requiredUnderstanding of US payer market dynamics and how managed care organizations make decisions across commercial and public channelsKnowledge across multiple market channels including payer, PBM, IDN, GPO, specialty pharmacy, etc.Knowledge of specialty pharmacy (how they operate, drivers, strengths, etc.) to ensure a positive patient experienceKnowledge of specialty products preferredKnowledge of the commercial brand planning processesExperience working cross functionally cross functionally with Medical Affairs, Legal, Finance, Analytics, Public Affairs, etc.Financial acumen including resource allocation, budget management and reporting, strategic sourcing, and P&L evaluationAnalytical capabilities to ensure robust inputs to decision-makingTravel ~10% (domestic)

U.S. Base Salary Range:

$149,100.00 - $234,300.00

The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location. 

U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
