Associate Director, Office of Gift Planning

This position plays a key role in advancing Belmont University's planned giving efforts through the Office of Gift Planning. The Gift Planning Associate Director manages a portfolio of donors and prospects, implements Covenant Society engagement, and implements marketing, digital tools and strategies to promote and secure non-cash, blended and estate gifts. Through strategic outreach and collaboration across Development, the role strengthens donor relationships and supports the University’s mission and campaign priorities.

Primary position responsibilities:

Manage a portfolio of donors and planned giving prospects using a donor-centered, data-informed approach to identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward supporters. Educate donors and their advisors on asset-based and estate gift options to maximize current and future support. Conduct face-to-face visits with donors and prospects to build trust and deepen engagement. Assist in the creation of customized strategies, develop gift illustrations, and donor intention forms to help donors formalize their legacy intentions in support of Belmont University's mission and campaign priorities. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of donor interactions in the CRM system following established protocols. Occasional travel may be required to visit donors and attend regional events.Develop and implement multi-channel marketing strategies to promote planned giving opportunities to Belmont alumni and friends via direct mail, surveys, email, web, and print media. Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to coordinate donor testimonials and create promotional materials for print and digital channels. Maintain and update planned giving content on the Office of Gift Planning website. Monitor digital inquiries and ensure timely, strategic follow-up. Leverage data and marketing analytics to improve audience targeting/segmenting, enhance engagement, and increase awareness of planned giving opportunities.In collaboration with the Office of Stewardship, lead efforts to engage and recognize members of the Covenant Society. Plan and execute events to celebrate legacy donors and encourage new membership. Develop and produce communications, including newsletters, personalized acknowledgments, and other print/digital materials to steward Covenant Society members, affiliate members and prospects. Coordinate closely with Advancement colleagues to ensure messaging, tone, and experience reflect Belmont’s mission and campaign goals. Serve as a point of contact for all Covenant Society engagement and inquiries.Support maintenance of essential Office of Gift Planning files, including Covenant Society member records and estates in probate. Collaborate with the Senior Director of Gift Planning to ensure timely documentation and appropriate notification of realized estate gifts. Help monitor the status of open estates and coordinate with Advancement Services, Stewardship, and other internal teams to ensure proper recording, acknowledgment, and stewardship.
