Associate Director, Procurement

Introduction to role

The Procurement Associate Director, Advertising, Media & Key Initiatives role supports category strategy development and associated initiatives for all agencies and some key vendors for the Oncology Business Unit, with a particular focus on the NA region along with Global responsibilities. Partner with franchise/function marketers to meet marketing objectives and best-in-class agency partnerships. Additional category and activity support as required to support the business needs.

They are a subject matter expert in agency management, agency operations, performance management, and/or sourcing with prior experience in agency management or procurement of marketing-related spend categories. They proactively partner with business team members in Marketing, Media, and similar areas to develop agency strategies and lead sourcing projects, enable scope definition and demand management leading supplier performance and innovation activities.

Accountabilities

The Associate Director, Procurement for the Oncology Business Unit is someone who:

Drives Category Management and Vendor Management supporting activities and operational practices driving performance for commercial procurement.

Leads key initiatives across OBU using stakeholder management, change management, and strong communication skills to drive collaboration, alignment, and executional excellence.

Creates and collaborates on the OBU specifics for development of regional and global strategy execution recommendations.

Supports the implementation of the broader category strategies and proactively identifies alignments across larger OBU portfolio.

Establishes strong relationships with key partners and agencies to drive improvement across service, quality, timeliness, and outcomes.

Analyzes and communicates patterns to identify new opportunities for value creation and turn data into concrete insights, decisions, and outcomes.

Leads compliance, governance, and value tracking activities

Develops a comprehensive understanding of broader supplier and industry trends and dynamics.

Facilitates and implements agency/supplier relationship management programs that span multiple AZ OBU areas in close partnership with key business leaders and strategies.

Leads day-to-day procurement operational practices while balancing the responsibilities of various business areas, vendors, analytics, and planning.

Leads Sourcing-driven activities, negotiations, supports peak contracting and reviews, including Project Management.

Effectively guides cross-functional teams in selecting agency and supplier partners that deliver best total value for AZ.

Essential Skills/Experience

Minimum of 5 years' experience in a procurement/sourcing environment, agency, vendor management or agency management/operations role

Solid experience and subject matter expertise in marketing-related spend categories and activities

Clear understanding of holding company structure

Bachelor’s Degree is required

Desirable Skills/Experience

Experience in a people-leader role

Prior agency management experience is preferred, strategic sourcing, vendor management, agency operations, agency management.

Previous work in the Advertising Agency industry is preferred but not required

Works indirectly for the OBU Advertising and Media Category Director

The annual base pay for this position ranges from $138,400.00to $207,600.00. Hourly and salaried non-exempt employees will also be paid overtime pay when working qualifying overtime hours. Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.  In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles), to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles), and commission payment eligibility (sales roles). Benefits offered included a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and, health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Additional details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base pay (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
