Results are achieved by partnering with the business to create a CI mindset and framework and leading/supporting the PM of initiatives

The GSC E&S team plays a key role in our Supply Chain function by supporting the adoption of change as a result of GSC impacted initiatives such as SAP roll out, maintenance of changes to existing SAP, planning systems changes and enhancements, Business process improvements, etc.

This position is responsible for supporting and leading initiatives, creating a culture and mindset of CI, establishing governance frameworks, aligning stakeholders, and ensuring effective communication, training, and feedback mechanisms.

You will also serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, providing guidance on the roll out of CI, Governance, Communication strategies, Change Management, leadership principles, and stakeholder management. Additionally, you will contribute to building a best-in-class CI management practice within the organisation by sharing tools, templates, and mentorship with fellow team members. The position demands a high level of cross functional collaboration and will set the vision for CI needed for GSC in partnership with the business.

Responsibilities

CI and PM Framework:Enhance the foundations to support a repeatable approach to PM and CI initiatives – e.g. CI training, tools, templates etcDevelop a CI Service level offering from tools to templates to fully manage CIDevelop and roll out an integrated GSC E&S framework for PM and CI activities - from intake to requirements gathering and right through to deployment, ensuring robust repeatable service delivery through robust stakeholder managementEstablish an integrated GSC E&S monthly business review frameworkEstablish current state maturity and benchmark to advance the maturity of servicesCI and PM activities:

The following CI and PM activities may apply - depending on the level of service support required for an initiative:

Apply a structured methodology by leveraging a PM and CI methodology, to create a strategy to support the implementation and adoption of the changes requiredEngage with internal customers to support their efforts in solving complex problems and improving performancePerform analysis and diagnostics to identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to leadershipDesign and facilitate workshops and Kaizen eventsCoordinate idea generation, project identification, prioritization, and overall selection, ensuring that projects are integrated with business strategiesSupport the design and delivery of CI projects as part of a cross-functional teamIdentify and justify project benefits and financial savingsSupport teams assigned to implementing the recommendationsDrive achievement for own projects and projects they are supportingCoordinate the training of all levels of the organization on CI principles and methodologiesCoach and mentor Project Sponsors, Black Belts/Green Belts candidates on the proper use of tools, improvement processes, and deployment issuesEncourage a CI culture by influencing and empowering employees to identify opportunities to apply techniques and tools in everyday work activitiesFacilitate the sharing of best practices and project successes across the organizationSupport the change management, communication and training effortsCreate and utilise a best practice PM and CI FrameworkIdentify, analyze and prepare risk mitigation tacticsEnsure that PM plans are supported by OCM plansTrack and report issuesEvaluate and ensure user readinessMeasure the impact of change management strategies deployed through key KPI measurement to monitor change progressBusiness Partnering:Collaborate with subject matter experts across the Pharmaceutical Development and Manufacturing (PDM) business area, GSC, Finance and CommercialGSC E&S - Closely partner with the other pillars under GSC E&S: Processes, Global Trade Compliance and other optimisation pillars such as Training, Resilience, OCM and Data and Analytics to identify CI and PM dependenciesDevelop a deep understanding of organisational operations and workflowsRegular engagement with customers to understand pain points, prioritisation etcSupport cross-functional business process governance reviewsFuture of CI and PM as a service provided:Develop Vision and mission aligned with GSC, PDM and Gilead’s vision and missionDevelop and implement roadmap to evolve the CI and PM service whilst utilising best in class benchmarking, maturity assessment and action plans to evolveCollaborate across Gilead PM and CI teams, creating, participating and engaging in a Community of Practice to share learnings, best practice and latest trendsMeasures of Success:As part of establishing a monthly business review process, identify success factor KPI’s for both CI and PM services. Identify and maintain impact measurements for existing and new PM/CI activities/servicesIdentify areas of opportunity and improve the CI and PM framework/service offeringChange Management:Facilitate communications and change management for key programs and projects on an Ad Hoc initiatives as needed – to ensure cross team member capability

Experience and Competencies

10+ years relevant experience in related field and a BS or BA; or8+ years of relevant experience and an MA/MBAExperience in pharmaceutical operations/cGMP environment highly desirableMay require experience purchasing custom chemicals, planning pharmaceuticaldevelopment activities, and managing the third-party synthesis of intermediates/ActivePharmaceutical Ingredient5+ years Supply Chain experience, managing end to end change with in-depth knowledge of Supply Chain processesExcellent attention to detail coupled with an ability to understand the 'big picture'Leads and project manages projects independentlyComfortable presenting recommendations to diverse stakeholdersSolid understanding of current industry trendsLeadership qualities: collaboration, accountability, cross functional engagement and influence, strategic vision and coachingExcellent communication skills - ability to communicate on technical content and data with non-technical business stakeholders, clearly articulating messages to a variety of audiencesAbility to establish and maintain strong relationships and influence othersFlexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situationsA Customer Service, Continuous Improvement and Project Management mindset

Qualifications

Project Management and Lean Six Sigma qualifications e.g. PMI/PRINCE 2/Green or Black beltBachelor’s degree in Business/CM/Engineering discipline is requiredMaster’s degree and/or professional qualifications in supply chain management a plusChange management qualification e.g. PROSCI or other recognised CM qualification a plus


 

The salary range for this position is: $182,070.00 - $235,620.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
