Associate Director, R&D Finance
**General Description:** The Associate Director (AD), R&D Finance will be a key member of BeiGene’s Research & Development Finance team, reporting directly to the Director, R&D Finance. This role will provide strong business partnering support to various of our Development business units, with main focus on financial planning and resource management (OpEx and Headcount), as well as driving process and resource optimization. This position will be based in the US. The Associate Director, R&D Finance will support planning and budgeting processes such as the annual budget cycle, quarterly forecasting, and long-range strategic planning efforts. This role will also play a key role in partnering with HR, Procurement, IT, Accounting and the Finance team on organizational efficiency and process improvement initiatives. The candidate will have pharmaceutical or high-growth industry experience with an understanding of both R&D and working in a global environment. The candidate will be a hands-on and valued partner that provides analytical and strategic support to the business functions, can influence and challenge business assumptions and works closely with senior functional management to support high quality decision making while adhering to budget guidelines. The candidate should have a strong understanding of the mechanisms of financial reporting, accounting, and financial systems. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential as the role will communicate frequently with our global R&D Finance team and will support departments in various locations across the globe. Key personal competencies for success include the ability to master both strategic and operational issues, a strong technological aptitude, the ability to dynamically handle multiple competing priorities, cross-cultural management skills, outstanding teaming and collaboration skills, excellent communication skills, and a positive “can-do” attitude. **Essential Functions of the job:** + Support the annual operating plan, budget and quarterly forecasting processes + Develop internal reporting packages, dashboards and monthly BVA reports to support decision making + Proactively identify, design, and implement enhancements to existing sourcing and governance processes to drive enterprise efficiency and resource optimization + Provide insightful business performance analytics, including asking multiple “why’s” to get to the root cause of an issue. + Proven leadership, influencing and team development skillset + Proven planning, reporting, and analytical skills with demonstrated business and systems impact in previous roles. + Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), necessary for daily interaction with senior management. + Strong knowledge using financial systems, including skill with ERP (SAP or Oracle). and financial planning/reporting tools (e.g., TM1, Hyperion, Adaptive, etc.). **Qualifications:** + Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting Required and 8+ years (or Master’s Degree and 6+ years) of relevant experience in financial planning role, preferably in pharma or biotech organization + Strong business partnering, influencing and analytical skills with demonstrated business insights and process impact in previous roles + CPA or MBA preferred. **Supervisory Responsibilities:** + No direct reports **Travel:** Minimal travel throughout the U.S. may be required.
