Appointment:                   Full-Time 40 hours per week/12 months per year

Bradley University Turner School of Entrepreneurship and Innovation invites applications for the Associate Director position. 

The Turner School of Entrepreneurship and Innovation was founded in 2012 with a gift from Robert ’77 MBA ’78 and Carolyn Turner as the first in the nation to offer a campus-wide, freestanding academic unit. The Turner School provides Bradley students from all disciplines the opportunity to focus on entrepreneurship and innovation in both the classroom and experiential settings. Thirteen years later, the Turner School remains true to its origin, offering an inclusive, interdisciplinary journey to shape a brighter future for individuals, communities, and our planet! The Associate Director serves as an integral team leader, who together with the Executive/Academic and Managing Directors, advance the Turner School mission, serving all Bradley students, faculty, and staff to incorporate entrepreneurship and innovation into their respective work. 

The Associate Director focuses primarily on the educational and operational components of the Turner School including the Interdisciplinary Innovation Degree Completion program, Entrepreneurship and Innovation (SEI) Minor, Living Learning Community, Innovation Scholars, and micro-credentials.

Duties and Responsibilities include (but not limited to): 

Serve as operational director of the schoolLead initiatives to ensure effective communication and collaboration through use of appropriate software (e.g., Monday.com, Google suite)Identify areas for improvement in school operations and collaborate with the Executive Director to implement strategies that enhance efficiency and effectiveness while finding solutions to challengesCollaborate with the Executive Director to manage the school's operational budgetCoordinate with Event and Program Coordinator to procure supplies, equipment, and servicesSupport Managing Director to ensure successful execution of co-curricular programmingHire, train, and supervise student staffServe as curricular leadfor all current and future Turner School curriculum, including but not limited toInterdisciplinary Innovation Degree Completion programEntrepreneurship and Innovation Minor (SEI)Interdisciplinary Degree and certificate programs (e.g., micro-credentials, e-badges)Living Learning Community (including student recruitment)Innovation ScholarsEnsure timely compliance with Bradley’s curricular regulations and policiesAdvise students in the Interdisciplinary Innovation Degree Completion program, SEI minor, LLC and Innovation Scholar students through efficient use of appropriate technology (e.g., Navigate)Develop pedagogy and teach up to two Entrepreneurship and Innovation (SEI) courses (up to 6 credit hours) per semester across different modalities (e.g., online, in-person, hybrid)Establish and update as needed a standardized template for online learning management system across SEI courses (i.e., Canvas)Facilitate achievement of the Turner School’s Strategic Plan through data tracking and reporting on outcomes of curricular objectives and related KPIs  

Qualification Requirements:

Related Master’s Degree Teaching and advising experience at the collegiate levelRelevant experience, which may include any of the following:Curriculum DevelopmentInnovation or Entrepreneurship teachingAcademic AdvisingWork that includes entrepreneurial / innovative activities

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous managerial / leadership experience in a higher education

The successful candidate must possess the following characteristics: 

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skillsExcellent oral and written communication skillsExcellent teaching and public presentation skillsSuccessful track record in developing and implementing curricular developmentAbility to organize and prioritize multiple assignments with attention to detail and accuracyAbility to handle confidential information with discretionDemonstrated ability to work independently and proactively while also working in a team environmentExcellent decision-making capabilitiesAbility and skill to understand problems and take initiative to work independently to analyze, develop, and implement solutions

Mental/Physical Requirements:

The selected candidate must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation. Work is performed in a normal office environment with little exposure to outdoor temperatures or dirt and dust. Working conditions are typically moderately quiet.

To facilitate work with various programs across both units, some evening and early morning meetings may be required due to time differences as well as occasional weekend work.
