The Associate Director of Upstream Marketing will be responsible for the marketing initiatives for the portfolio strategy within the PI Vascular Platform. This role involves building and leading a high-performing team, defining and assessing the innovation portfolio, and building a strategic product roadmap which requires understanding business objectives and market segments, cross collaboration with strategic partners, and assessing customer and stake holder needs both in the US and internationally.
Responsibilities:
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, business development, sales, finance, regulatory affairs, clinical, legal, supply chain, downstream and regional marketing.
Subject matter expert for platform needs and workflows across stake holders.
Identify and drive key innovation and sustaining projects through development and commercial processes by leading cross functional teams. Works with teams to ensure timely execution and meeting of key deliverables.
Manage market research activities to develop fact-based customer insights
Analyze market trends, customer insights, and competitive landscape to inform product opportunities and identify opportunities for growth.
Leads market models and operating expenses for organic and inorganic programs.
Assess financial implications, including profitability and viability, for sophisticated product/market trade-offs.
Develop strong commercialization execution plans that leverage customer insights, create effective pricing strategies, identify target customers and drive key messages to support commercial launch excellence.
Manage, coach, and develop their team
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required; M.B.A preferred
7 to 10+ years’ experience in marketing, with a focus on healthcare or medical devices
Experience managing and developing direct reports required
Proven track record in developing and implementing new product development programs
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate at all levels of the organization.
Ability to effectively balance multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proven ability to identify, prioritize, advocate for, and implement opportunities that drive growth or enhance business performance.
Displays strong customer focus, including the development of value propositions, identifying needs, creating training programs, and experience working with the sales force and customers.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to use data for decision-making.
Ability to travel ~20%-30% of the time
High integrity and ethics and strong fit with BD values.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use sight, and use hands to manipulate, handle or feel objects, tools, controls, and office equipment.
