Associate Director, Volunteer Programs
Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is looking for a hands-on and experienced individual that will be responsible for the strategic development and strengthening of volunteer activities and services in the Asia Pacific (AP) region. Reporting to the Director of Resource Development (RD), the Associate Director, Volunteer Programs role will provide leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the volunteer programs, and inspires and drives the region’s volunteer engagement to scale.

This position will be based in Metro Manila, Philippines. Candidates must be currently eligible to work in the country without sponsorship. The successful candidate will be offered a local country-specific contract and will also receive a local country-based compensation.

The work arrangement for this position is hybrid, and flex-time schedule.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


Volunteer Program Management (40%)Develop and implement strategies to mainstream volunteering and to strengthen volunteer engagement in the Asia-Pacific (AP) region.Provide thought leadership to the team to take an evidence-based approach for the regional network to be able to better integrate volunteerism into housing programming.Strengthen collaboration between teams, and engagement among Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), to mainstream volunteering in key program areas and fundraising channels.Liaise with the Global Volunteer and Institutional Engagement (VIE) team and with other Area Office teams in all aspects of volunteer engagement for and on behalf of the AP region.Manage, mentor, and coach the AP Volunteer Programs team (2 staff).

Capacity Development and Partnerships (30%)Build the knowledge and experience in volunteer program management and development of tools and resources.Improve the capacity of the volunteer program teams in the AP network in managing volunteer programs.Represent Habitat externally and facilitate the creation of sustainable partnerships that will drive volunteer programming innovations and growth.Position Habitat for Humanity as a top-of-mind volunteer-involving organization in the region.

Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (20%)Ensure compliance, alignment and effectiveness are met in the implementation of volunteer programs, products, and services across the AP network.Facilitate measuring impact of our work by mainstreaming volunteering in strategies and key program documents in the region, i.e. by tapping into volunteering as a way of working, how does it contribute to generating greater impact in the sector at the regional level.Coordinate with relevant teams and departments in enforcing duty of care, managing risks and protecting the brand.Establish a safe, confidential, and responsive complaint and feedback mechanism for beneficiaries (project participants), which is accessible to at-risk adults and children.

Other Tasks (10%)Coordinate tithe-related services for the AP region and engagement of US and Canadian affiliates.Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:Education:
Bachelor’s degree required
Years of Related Experience:
8 or more years of experience in volunteer engagement for non-profit in a variety of settings

Qualifications:Strategic thinker; strong background in partnership development, government relations and advocacyExperience in developing programs and partnerships with volunteer-oriented organizationsDemonstrate hands-on experience in implementing a successful volunteer development programField experience in managing volunteer programsSupervisory, team building, training, and mentoring skillsExcellent organizational and administrative skillsExcellent English oral and written communication skillsAbility to work in a cross-cultural settingAbility to communicate and affirm the Christian roots and principles of HFH
