Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and business oriented leader to join our International Winning With Data (WWD) team as Associate Director, International Capabilities Lead to drive our commercial transformation into a data & insight driven decision-making organization. His/Her main focus will be on driving the enablement of the international capabilities at international level within the IMCO (International Marketing and Commercial Operations) organization (e.g. International Brand Teams, International MABI). This is a key role in leading and coordinating the effort to ensure a proper adoption of the international WWD strategies and portfolio in the international departments, as well as facilitating the related change management to support the commercial teams through the journey of embedding analytics into their business processes.
The selected candidate will report into the Director, Winning With Data Lead; he/she will oversee a team of contractors / external vendors geographically dispersed. This role will work closely with International Brand Teams, International CEX functions such as ACE (Advanced Customer Engagement), IMABI, BEx, Patient Engagement and BTS (Business Technology Solutions) within a program matrix as well as commercial colleagues across international, area and affiliates.
In this role, the selected candidate will bring together our commercial data assets and our people at International level (and in partnership with areas and affiliates) in a new way of working and influence the roadmap based on IMCO requirements and needs. Also, the candidate will lead a team of Data SMEs to provide business and technical expertise in Advanced/Predictive/Prescriptive analytics. Key responsibility will be to drive the strategy and execution of WWD projects for the highly visible and groundbreaking Digital Transformation and WWD initiatives; in particular the candidate will be focusing on leading the engagement of the IMCO teams and deployment of the international strategies into their ways of working.
For this role, the perfect candidate should have a mix of leadership, communication, engagement, analytical and business-oriented skills to be a trusted partner for the international management team as well as a respected “voice” to influence the international WWD pipeline. In this role you will also provide leadership to bring together our commercial data assets and our people in a new way of working model with cascading the governance and standards needed to enable a single source of truth that brings our organization's data to insights and then insights to action.
This is a high-profile role, with direct line of sight into the Marketing and Commercial Organization, working directly with international, area and affiliate leadership teams, BTS, business owners and executives. Also, key aspect of the role will be a natural and strong ability to influence others without authority in order to ensure successful adoption of the commercial data strategy and to be recognized by all the stakeholders as a trusted partner.
Main Responsibility
As WWD Team Member
Transform data into business insights that are useful for decision making and strategic planning leveraging complex statistical models and algorithms.Serve as a key team member in the International WWD team and LT, working in close partnership with the Digital Transformation, ACE, IMABI and WWD Int’l Capability teams and becoming a trusted partner to International, Area and Affiliate leadership.Understand and assess data fit and quality, informing and partnering with the International Data & Information Quality team to maintain the highest standards.Identify the best way to disseminate information through utilization of different tools and visual elements to stakeholders focusing on a clear storytelling for the commercial international leadership.Develop a deep understanding of AbbVie data assets and Ontology in Foundry.Understand / Influence business requirements to inform the development / customization of Machine Learning algorithm to support the international strategy.Drive the development of the use cases (e.g. Brand Pulse, Customer Pulse), in partnership with the other WWD teams, to prototype and develop the relevant key business questions, KPIs and visualizations.Maintain full compliance with internal and external guidelines.Be responsible for the relevant ACE impact analysis.As IMCO Main Point of Contact within the WWD International team
Be a strategic partner for the IMABI team to ensure strategy alignment and execution excellence.Lead a Int’l cross-functional team to deliver program objectives including but not limited to the ACE program for the concerned area of scope.Facilitate the change mgmt. and onboarding of the different stakeholders within the IMCO organization.Program scope mgmt. based on consensus of priorities to support the business and FFIT priorities. Manage program governance and hygienic factors.Ensure a closed loop approach to collect IMCO requirements and influence the international roadmap based on the same.Drive the engagement of international stakeholders to define business questions, requirements, timelines, objectives, and success criteria for data analysis initiatives.Engage the international brand teams up to GMs and TAs VPs during the critical deployment of the capabilities to the brand teams, understand needs and define the related priority to close the loop into the international data / use cases pipeline.Lead the activation and deployment of cloud based, data management & advanced analytics capabilities by being the business translator and subject matter expert to understand IMCO business requirements and translating them into standard Use Cases.Lead the design and development of robust impact measurement methodology to be applied to the ACE impact measurement.Ensure regular monitoring of the ACE impact analysis for all the countries in scope.Work with the BTS organization and third parties as strategic partners to roll out Analytics program for international and help them to become self-sufficient in transforming to higher levels of data use, maturity and analytics sophistication during the Sustainability phase.Provide leadership in the engagement with affiliates on business, governance and process issues, guide business and technical decision makers on creating business value through Analytics Use Cases ideation workshops, platform and technology evangelization, and provide guidance on achieving long term sustainability.Be a though leader on our measurement strategy, by identifying the right KPIs to serve key business questions and drive consistency in measurement across affiliates, area and international to ensure robust business reviews/exchanges.As WWD Pillar Leader
Ensure strong alignment of the international / area / local analysis in strong partnership with the WWD Enablement Lead and IMABI.Ensure strong alignment with the WWD Data Foundations team to inform future data foundation strategy to support the IMCO business need.Drive the team in working closely with IMABI and BTS colleagues to ensure smooth transition of pilots into production, including technical guidance with respect to replication and scaling, with specific focus on Visualizations.Provide data analysis thought leadership in the Digital Transformation and WWD Capabilities strategic planning processes based on a deep understanding of data assets and best practice approaches and their application to AbbVie’s commercial data to address business needs.Drive the team to ensure Data Analysis and Visualization components and projects are conducted on time, accurately, within budget, and in accordance with financial and ethical compliance guidelines.Work closely with Center of Excellence SMEs to drive Standardization and curate best practices, leverage a community of experts and library of use cases.Qualifications
Skills and Qualifications:
Master degree required, MBA will be considered a valuable plus.Minimum of 12 years of data analysis experience or equivalent.Minimum of 5 years of experience working in a global environment and interacting with multiple stakeholders in a matrix organization.Experience in leading a remote team.Experience in the pharma industry will be considered a valuable plus.Experience in commercial roles will be considered a valuable plus (i.e. Marketing, Sales) as well as in Finance.Experience in using data visualization tools within Foundry (e.g. Contour) and/or Tableau, PowerBI, Qliksense.Strong experience analyzing and drawing insights from key internally generated and external datasets.Analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, business acumen, and creativity in problem solving.Strong communication skills, People person. Ability to interact effectively with/present to (verbally and in writing) all levels of the organization (up to Int’l Senior Directors / GMs / VPs)Ability to be agile & nimble to changing business conditions and priorities, strong collaboration, and teamwork across functional groups to contribute to a productive work culture.
