**Associate Director: Learning Journey Designer (Instructional & Experience Design)**
**Job Description**
Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. As an Associate Director, Learning Journey Designer, you are responsible for developing and execution of the Instructional & Experience Design strategy for Learning & the build of the Leadership Academy. TD&I have recently invested in new learning technology and this role will work with the Learning Architecture Lead and the Center of Excellence Strategy Leads to develop the strategy to support the build of a Leadership Academy within a learning experience platform. Working with the Center of Excellence Strategy Leads you will be responsible for building end to end learner experiences. As part of the Learning & Leadership Academy team you will contribute to the learning strategy ,learning design principles, learner metrics. You will influence stakeholders without authority and network across the organization, communicating effectively with leaders in a fast-moving, challenging, and dynamic environment. **Essential Duties & Functions**
+ Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive end-to-end instructional & experience strategy to maximize the impact of all learning and development assets across including applications, tools, technology, and resources.
+ Leadership Academy Curriculum Development & Maintenance: Direct the creation and maintenance of the learning experience in the Leadership Academy.
+ Learning Delivery: Work closely with the Learning Architecture & Learning Operations lead to deliver high-quality, innovative, and effective global learning solutions.
+ Stakeholder & Project Management: Serve as a trusted advisor to effectively influence and collaborate with internal stakeholders, including senior leaders, to ensure learning initiatives meet commercial and strategic goals.
+ Innovative Learning Solutions: Stay informed on industry trends and integrate advancements in instructional design technology and tools to drive innovative solutions that positively impact the learner experience and business outcomes.
+ Cross-functional Networking: Build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships to ensure seamless integration of learning programs within the broader commercial strategy.
+ Continuous Improvement & Metrics: Develop the strategy for how we assess impact and continuously improve the effectiveness of the learning experiences.
**Basic Qualifications:**
Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience OR Master’s Degree and Eight Years’ Experience
OR Ph.D. and Two Years’ Experience.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ With a bachelor’s degree at least 10 years of experience in a multinational environment with increasing responsibilities
+ Experience working in a global environment with an enhanced understanding of curriculum design contextualization based on culture, language and local context
+ At least 4 years of relevant experience in developing and designing instructional programs and learner experiences through application of Learning Strategy, Adult Learning Principles, and curriculum design and deployment.
+ At least 2 years’ experience working with learning experience platforms, experience with 360Learning & Workday is preferred and a distinct advantage.
+ Demonstrated expertise in negotiation, influencing, and relationship-building with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
+ Proven leadership skills with the ability to tackle complex and ambiguous problems.
+ Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead, negotiate, resolve conflict, and drive consensus among culturally and professionally diverse individuals.
+ Effective communication skills, with experience presenting to executive teams and driving collaborative problem-solving.
+ Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, motivate a team, and deliver high-impact results.
+ Strong project management, change management, and program management skills, with experience handling multiple priorities simultaneously.
+ Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
+ Experience across global markets (e.g., US, EU, Japan, China).
+ Commercial Learning and Development experience

The salary range for this position is: $182,070.00 - $235,620.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package. Benefits include company-sponsored medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans*.
