About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 12 Title: Associate Director – Strategic Alliances / Partnerships The Role: S&P Global Commodity Insights manages a number of broad and complex relationships with organizations or individuals who are important to our ongoing success and market position, including ‘high priority organizations’ such as government entities, market supervisory bodies, industry associations, regulators, tax authorities, think thanks etc . The Associate Director of Strategic Alliances helps coordinate and drive S&P Global Commodity Insights Global Strategic Alliances/Key Influencer Program (with key emphasis on metals and agriculture). This role reports to the Global Director of Strategic Alliances, part of SPGCI Commercial Strategy. Global Strategic Alliances/Key Influencer Program - Metals & Agriculture Manage identification, approval and categorization of strategic alliances/key influencers by region, country, commodity sector Build and manage highly strategic, complex, senior level relationships with a diplomatic and sensitive approach Coordinate engagement strategies for high priority entities with Content, Research, Marketing and Commercial leadership Establish commercial strategy for high priority entities based on type, location and sector Establish data and information sharing strategy for high priority entities ensuring amplified usage of SPGCI data and services, increased exposure and growth in long term commercial revenue targets Work closely with senior Content and Commercial management teams to categorize and prioritize Assess state of current relationships in the program, monitor progress and value to S&P Global Commodity Insights Determine periodic action plans for high priority entities in both emerging and established markets Tender Process Management for high priority entities Monitor tender platforms of existing and target entities within the program Manage and lead tender processes globally, coordinate with commercial, product, legal and data governance Contract Management Work with regional Business Portfolio- and Commercial Managers to manage the program’s SF pipeline and legal contracts Log value adds, meeting notes where possible, oversee renewals with the commercial manager from strategic perspective Functional and Business Knowledge A broad and in-depth experience & knowledge of working in the energy, commodities and futures markets. Strong strategic and business development skills coupled with demonstrating ability to establish high level stakeholder relationships with strategic partners and regulatory bodies. To have a broad knowledge of the industry, benchmark journey and the competitive landscape, as well as the need to develop a deep specialized knowledge of S&P Global Commodity Insights businesses and products. Problem Solving Manages complex multilateral relationships & legal contractual situations and will be required to resolve challenging business and relationship problems as well as growing the S&P Global Commodity Insights Brand recognition coupled with the growth of Key influencers working with S&P Global Commodity Insights Interactions Works regularly with regional business leads, internal partners as well as C-Suite executives in other organizations to develop new relationships and expand existing ones. Strong communication skills and highly diplomatic approach are needed and the ability to coordinate geographically dispersed teams and drive projects to completion. Typical Scope & Impact Commercial programs and relationships with intermediaries where we depend on each other for data and have mutual relationships with many customers is a key element to S&P Global Commodity Insights success. The majority of relationships are with high priority organizations such as Intergovernmental Organizations, Ministries, Market Authorities, Key Trade Associations and Regulators who can make policy and regulatory decisions and have oversight power that can materially affect our customers, our business.
