Job DescriptionOur diverse Melbourne-based Building Services Team are currently looking for an experienced Team Lead to manage a group of Principal Level engineers. Your role will be split across people management and project delivery, including assisting with the design and delivery of projects across; Healthcare, Education, Aviation, Civil Infrastructure, Defence, Commercial and Community/Leisure projects across the State.
What will a day in this role look like:
Lead and manage a team of experienced, multidisciplinary building services engineers. Support their technical development and professional growth by providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management while setting clear goals for success.Collaborate with other Team Leads within the group to drive multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring effective strategic planning, resource allocation, and utilization.Utilise your expertise in Building Services to provide technical insights for project proposals and bids, lead major projects, and foster strong client relationships across a diverse portfolio.Apply your commercial acumen and analytical skills to interpret complex financial systems and reports, contributing to both the broader operational business and specific project success.Drive innovation and best practices within the Building Services discipline, ensuring the team stays ahead of industry trends, emerging technologies, and sustainable engineering solutions.QualificationsThe following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don’t tick all the boxes, you could still be a perfect fit for this role. What are we looking for from you?
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or another Building Services-related discipline) with experience in direct team management and a people leadership role.Ideally, 12+ years of experience in the Building Services sector, with a proven track record of delivering projects as a Lead Engineer, Project Manager, or Design Manager across diverse market sectors.Demonstrated experience in resource planning and resource mapping across multiple multi-disciplinary building services engineering projects.Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams, collaborating with engineers from various disciplines as the Project Lead, leveraging your technical expertise and exceptional communication skills.CPEng / RPEQ and/or RBP Accreditation (highly advantageous).Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage with clients, consultants, and project teams to drive successful project outcomes.Join us and let’s get started.
