$126,000 - $184,800Organization Overview:
External innovation is a critical element of our R&D engine and has enabled more than half of Lilly’s product launches since 2014. As we work to increase our overall R&D output, business development investment, licensing and aquisitions will play an even larger role in our overall success. The Associate Director- Business Development Operations and Intelligence will work within the Business Development organization to drive efficiency and technology solutions across the enterprise. The successful candidate will leverage their pharmaceutical business experience paired with an aptitude for employing technology solutions to drive efficacies in business processes. The position will also require scientific and technical expertise to manage multiple streams of information and provide outputs to senior leadership that instill confidence into governance decisions.
Responsibilities:
Business Process Improvement:
Drive efficiency of business by executing a comprehensive evaluation of existing business processes. Mapping out potential future state solutions that leverage artificial intelligence and machine leaning to drive business decisions.
Work within the greater external innovation ecosystem to develop a broad understanding of partnering and investment models employed at Lilly. Seeking to align processes where appropriate to drive capacity and efficiency of the team.
Aligned with owners of IT initiatives across the company to ensure a robust roadmap of data, processes and resources to enable growth for the business development team.
Technology Development:
The Associate Director of Business Process Improvement will work with the Sr Director of Business Intelligence Solutions to develop and deploy solutions that integrate and analyze internal and external data and provide reporting solutions that enable collaboration across multiple teams.
The position will work within the business development team to drive competency as well as engagement with IT solutions such as co-pilot, GPT and LLM's to drive efficiency in daily activities.
Information management:
Work within the BD operations and intelligence team to automate reporting/dashboarding of information for project teams as well as senior leadership.
Work with the Associate Director of Business Intelligence to drive efficiency of current CRM system and drive improvements to data management activities

Domain Expertise
Demonstrated experience in leading strategic transformation with a focus on the intersection of science, technology and business development.
Extensive experience and knowledge of existing intelligence tools and information management practices. including: commercial databases, data base architecture and analytics tools.
Knowledge of emerging IT framework and capabilities used for drug and business development.
Demonstrated track record of successful execution of developing technology solutions for complex initiatives.
Communication
Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to make the complex simple, and maturity to interact with all levels of broader organization
A strong sense of pride in work and attention to detail
Basic Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or medical related field
Minimum 10 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry including significant experience in business development, intelligence or operations.
Must have working knowledge and experience with business development processes and outputs including; extensive experience with intelligence databases, development of internal databases and tools, and intelligence methodologies to prepare analysis requisite of executive leadership.

Additional Skills/Preferences:
Graduate degree (MBA, PhD) preferred or equivalent career experience
Strong project management experience in pharmaceutical space
Data informatics and analytics experience with visualization capabilities (Power BI, Tableau)
Additional Information:
Less than 10% domestic travel required
Required to work in office 4 days a week.
