Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$118,500 - $173,800

Organization Overview:

The Engineering Tech Center is part of the overall Corporate Engineering team for Lilly. This team is responsible for subject matter expertise with several aspects of engineering disciplines along with program ownership for key programs across the corporation.

Position Overview:

The Associate Director – Corporate Maintenance and Reliability position has overall responsibility for supervision, safety, performance, and development of direct-reporting employees. The team typically consists of multiple Lilly engineers plus additional external contingent workers when needed. This role will manage and monitor business results, compliance, productivity improvement, and overall customer service for the team, while streamlining processes, prioritizing work, and supporting the overall corporate maintenance and reliability program strategies. The Associate Director role will provide discipline leadership in technology development, knowledge sharing, mentoring of junior talent, as well as provide technical leadership to sites, support major project delivery, support key initiatives led by the tech center, and network with external benchmarking communities.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

1. Lead HR processes, including performance management, compensation management, reward and recognition, talent assessment, promotion, recruiting, and succession planning. Coach and develop team members. Support and lead diversity initiatives.

2. Support Maintenance and Reliability team strategy, business planning, and team building activities. Key programs to foster include condition-based monitoring and decision making, ongoing conduct of maintenance practices, next improvements to the calibration program at Lilly, and others.

3. Maintenance and Reliability Engineering Discipline and Technical Leadership – Partner with peer groups and manufacturing sites on solution assessments, reuse/replication opportunities, and concept development. Manage tools, engineering standards, master specifications and best practices.

4. Knowledge Sharing – Provide technical coaching and mentoring to Lilly engineers. Document learning through peer-reviewed technical documents. Facilitate shared learning forums such as conferences and user groups.

5. Project Delivery Leadership – Support major capital project delivery through resourcing of key subject matter experts. Monitor and act on key performance metrics for team performance on project delivery goals.

6. External Influence and Benchmarking - Monitor and influence external industry trends for digital manufacturing technologies and solutions.

7. Support and own global Maintenance and Reliability sponsored programs and initiatives.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science fieldMinimum 5 years of manufacturing experience in engineering or related functional areaDemonstrated leadership in an engineering field

Knowledge in conduct of maintenance and reliability engineering principlesKnowledge of project management and vendor managementExcellent verbal and written communications skillsExperience in Capital project deliverycGMP Regulatory knowledge

Additional Information:

This position supports Lilly’s drug product and drug substance network globally and may require US and OUS travel (up to 15%) as well as off-hour meetings due to time zone differences.Monday through Friday, Day Shift.
