Associate Director - Digital Material Operations

Associate Director - Digital Material Operations is responsible for supporting the definition and implementation of Digital Plant systems and capabilities in the Material Management and Supply Chain function. Defining digital plant business needs and user requirements, ensuring that the end user requirements are well understood and incorporated into the design, and that the applications and systems used are appropriately configured and integrated to fulfill the business need.

Associate Director -Digital Material Operations combines their knowledge of Supply Chain and Material Management operations with Digital Technology to deliver a digital plant solution to the Limerick operations. A significant part of the role involves working with local and global IT experts and system owners to understand digital system capabilities and system positioning, as well as close collaboration with Operations, QC, Engineering and QA to understand interdependencies between business processes and digital applications.  The primary focus of the role will be on the core applications of SAPS4 and SAP EWM.

Educational Qualifications/ Experience Required

Bachelor’s degree in business information systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain or related discipline. Minimum of (8) years’ experience in manufacturing, preferred in pharmaceutical or other regulated industries.   Experience with integrated business process flows, driven by SAP applications, in a manufacturing facility.  

Key Responsibilities

Translate the business needs into user requirements for all new digital technologies & solutions in Material Management and Supply Chain that will deliver an automated, paperless, fully integrated, data analytics driven operations and business processes.   Develop the standard workflows for how we will use digital technology within our business processes and operations.  Define strategies for operational offline and online shakedown and testing of digital solutions post-implementation by IT. Work with the relevant functions to develop test scope and ensure it is planned and executed appropriately.   Liaise with operations and IT to develop best training practices to ensure an efficient, effective, and timely knowledge transfer to the end users.   Support the implementation of these digital solutions.   Lifecycle owner for the Material Operations and Supply Chain function’s Digital roadmap.  In the initial start up phase of the site the role will focus on implementation and sustain of the core technology layer: SAP S4 and SAP EWM.Work with the IT analyst for the Material Operations and Supply Chain function to build user capability in SAP S4 and SAP EWM across all functions at the site.Troubleshoot issues SAP S4 and SAP EWM working with local and global IT during the start up phase of the project.Build the SAP S4 and SAP EWM roadmap for the site during site expansion.Work closely with the global SAP S4 and SAP EWM teams as well as local IT Analysts to ensure the site makes the most of these core technologies.Progress the digital roadmap at the Limerick site, as a key member of the Digital Plant team, by embedding SAP as a core system.
