Menuma DMO Lead – Scope Summary:

The Menuma Digital Manufacturing Operations (DMO) Lead is responsible for ensuring all DMO capabilities are effectively implemented, operationalized, and sustained in Menuma (Japan) manufacturing site.  This scope currently includes process automation for production, laboratory, data and analytics, and DMO digital foundations (business systems and mission critical infrastructure).  The lead will serve as a focal point for modernizing, and transforming the Automation and IT capabilities in Menuma, collaborating in the Asia Pacific region as well as global Digital our Manufacturing Division value teams.   

Site:  Menuma, Japan

Responsibilities:

Drive a high-performance organizational culture that accommodates rapid growth and highly dynamic expectations ensuring attainment of site operational and development goals in Japan.

Provide a single point accountability to the Menuma Plant Manager for issue escalation and strategic thought leadership.

Manage a team of specialists in providing control systems, and business critical infrastructure support.

Implement improvements in compliance with SDLC, GMP, safety, and environmental regulations.

Advance transformation in modernizing facility and digitalizing key site manufacturing processes.

Liaise with Value Teams and broader IT to ensure business requirements are clearly understood and implemented, and sponsor technology adoption to ensure value pull through on agreed business outcomes.

Advance Menuma DMO organization based on DMO standard site structure to meet business needs

Manage DMO site budget to meet annual profit plan targets. Take a lead role in identifying and achieving cost savings on both capital and expense spend.

Work collaboratively to drive a safe, compliant and inclusive culture.

Collaborate with teams across geographies, ensuring effective communications, including alignment back to the DMO and value team organizations in the region.

Education Requirement:

Bachelors Degree (Prefer Bachelor of Science) in Engineering, Science, Information Technology or Computer Science

Qualifications:

Knowledge of IT & Automation systems that support pharmaceutical manufacture (MES, LIMS etc), management and data capture systems and other analytics-based systems.   Preferred experience and knowledge of automation, control systems for packaging, tableting technologies from suppliers commonly used in Japan.

Knowledge of Japan health regulatory requirements and requirements that drive digital delivery, Good Laboratory and Manufacturing practices, Computer Systems Validation, and other global regulatory requirements that impact computerized systems.

10+ years prior experience in Process Automation, Enterprise, Business, Information, Systems & Application and Solution Architectures.

Evidence of Continuous Professional Development (example: Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent).

7+ years experience managing people

Estimated 3-4 days a week to be spent at Menuma site.

Business level communication skill in English for engaging senior leadership team, stakeholders across geographies. 

Preferred business level communication skill in Japanese for managing site DMO team, collaborating across site.
