Associate Director - Financial Institutions

Join us at Barclays as an Associate Director where you will be an integral member of the Barclays Coverage Financial Institutions Team assisting Relationship Directors in charge of European banks and Barclays Affiliate clients (Barclays group). You will support the Relationship Directors in the relationship management, new business origination and effective risk management of the portfolio.  You will further develop a solid foundation in Financial Institution Business and relevant Corporate Banking knowledge.

To be successful as an Associate Director, you should have experience with:

Relationship management of Financial Institution portfolios Identifying and managing risk effectively Relevant product knowledge

Some other highly valued skills include:

Excellent spoken and written English Language. German, French, Dutch or Spanish skills beneficial depending on office location. Effective internal and external stakeholder management.

The successful candidate can be based in any one of our offices in Frankfurt, Paris, Amsterdam or Madrid.

This role is deemed as a Controlled Function role under the Central Bank of Ireland Fitness and Probity Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.

Purpose of the role

To build and maintain relationships with clients, understand their needs, expectations and financial goals to develop and propose appropriate investment banking solutions for clients and their companies  

Accountabilities

Development and maintenance of strong relationships with corporate clients by understanding their business, financial goals, and industry trends.   .Generation of ideas and identification of opportunities that expand the bank's client base and generate new business opportunities.  .In-depth financial analysis and due diligence on client companies to assess their financial health and valuation.  .Collaboration with legal and compliance teams to review, draft, and maintain legal documentation required for transactions, including contracts and agreements.  .Collaboration with other teams, such as Capital Markets, Sales and Trading, Research, and Risk Management, to provide comprehensive solutions to clients.  .Champion Energy Transition and Sustainability by engaging with clients on their climate, transition strategies and sustainable finance opportunities where applicable.  .To build and maintain relationships with clients, understand their needs, expectations and financial goals to develop and propose appropriate investment banking solutions for clients and their companies.
