Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
+ Serve as the University’s foremost expert and authority on occupancy management and housing assignments to maximize available bed space
+ Maintain specialized knowledge of the assignments process, RMS /Mercury, StarRez Banner, and all supporting systems
+ Support key University stakeholders who manage special programs and to best meet student housing needs
+ Serve as Department Lead for StarRez training for University partners
+ Anticipate issues before they occur and propose solutions and work-arounds
+ Anticipate evolving student and stakeholder needs
+ Partner closely with Undergraduate Admissions to administer the year-round housing tour program in support of enrollment management efforts
+ Recruit, develop, supervise, mentor, and manage 3 full-time staff members and indirectly recruit, develop, supervise, and manage up to 15 student Housing Ambassadors
+ Participate in virtual as well as in-person local and regional Admissions recruitment events
+ Serve as one of several department administrators to manage residential access
+ Represent HRL on University-wide committees and teams (including but not limited to the Housing, and Dining Appeals Committee)
+ Administer the housing deposit waiver process
Minimum Experience / Education:
Master’s degree (preferably in business administration, higher education, counseling and/or student personnel or related field).
Minimum of 5 years progressive experience in business administration, campus housing, housing assignments, occupancy management, housing operations, student affairs, or a related field.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Master’s degree (preferably in business administration, higher education, counseling and/or student personnel or related field).
5-7 years of progressive (post-masters) experience in business administration, campus housing, housing assignments, occupancy management, housing operations, student affairs, or a related field.
Experience with:
+ StarRez (and transition from Mercury to StarRez is an added bonus)
+ Banner
+ Supervising professional and student staff
+ De-escalating frustrated students and parents with high expectations
+ Human resource functions
+ Customer service/customer experience
+ Building and maintaining relationships with key campus partners
