Job Description
To manage strategic relations with the Business Stakeholders, Global Category Teams and lead the complex and high-value Source to Contract projects. The Procurement Manager shall utilize the vast category / area expertise as well as contracting knowledge to efficiently execute the procurement strategies, deliver financial savings and ensure business continuity of key contracts in the respective categories. The Procurement Manager will report to the Source to Contract Team Manager in the Hub.
Typical Accountabilities, Experience & Behaviors
Responsible for supporting Business Stakeholders, Global Category teams and in-market Procurement in the Source to Contract process:
Building and managing strong relations with Category Managers, Government entities and Business Stakeholders,Providing procurement recommendations as per selection of the most efficient ways of executing the strategy, proactively proposing solutions to all AZ Partners involved in sourcing & contracting projects,Supporting Global category leaders with developing ESR strategy to deliver category targets and savings targets,Independently managing and negotiating the complex sourcing projects and contracts (Research Agreements (Externally Sponsored Collaborative Research (ESCR) & Investigator-Initiated Sponsored Research (IISR), Master Service Agreements, Professional Service Agreements, other),Evaluating and recommending complex and variable procurement models to efficiently execute the strategy weighing alternatives and balancing conflict situations,Requires repeated follow up and communication to report delays to the internal Medical Team to determine whether a study should be terminated early due to delays. Managing sourcing projects (incl. issue of RFP, RFQ, RFIs),Financial oversight to ensure milestone payments are tied to deliverables and are not excessiveAnalyzing received proposals, making recommendations for supplier selection, preparing the summary reports. Conducting Fair Market Value Assessment,Acting in the role of a Subject Matter Expert to other Team Members,Driving Source to Contract process improvement and optimization (process steps, internal ways of working, legal support model, documents and templates etc.),Ensuring compliance to company procurement policies and improving the usage of the procurement tools,Contract renewals and new contracts creation – negotiations/renegotiations of the T&C’s and contract clauses,Contract’s administration – gathering signatures and contract storage in the system,High standards in cooperation with business stakeholders, ability to connect and build strong relationship with stakeholders across the globe (matrix organization)Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

At least 6 years of the work experience in the procurement department or supply chain (preferably in the organization with a big or mature procurement organization)Significant, proven contracting knowledgeSignificant, proven sourcing & contracting experience including E2E Source to Contract process, effective usage of negotiation techniques and tools, wide experience in negotiating commercial terms and contract clausesAbility to independently run complex contracting projects, including driving in suppliers’ negotiations processExperience in managing stakeholders across the globe within the matrix organizationAbility to work on multiple projects simultaneouslyProblem solving / continuous improvement approach“Can do attitude”Microsoft Office literacySkills:
