What You Will Do:
As an Associate Director, you will provide technical strategic skills in many areas of health care but will begin focusing on a specific area of specialization within the integrated healthcare system (service lines, facility strategy, enterprise strategy, financial strategy, M&A strategy, digital strategy, growth strategy). You will also develop a local, regional and national reputation for your expertise in this area of specialization on behalf of Guidehouse through speaking engagements, articles, etc., and will begin selling small projects in this key focal area.
Your work will include:
Develop strong capability to not only contribute to this effort, but also heavily contribute to Guidehouse thought leadership in this key focal area and lead Guidehouse and client teams to deliverables.
Build a reputation for expertise in this area of specialization and develop best practice and people to deliver excellence.
Structure project analyses and complete portions of analysis in health system strategy.
Define creative approaches to analyses building strategic models and solutions
Identify new tools and techniques to be applied
Ensure accurate application of business techniques
Develop strong ongoing relations with client managers, directors, and vice presidents, C Suite health systems and academic hospitals
Mentor more junior Guidehouse Co. professionals
Be a firm “expert” in areas of market specialization
Be alert to potential new client leads and work with area leads to answer potential at existing clients
Project Management including:
Establish and maintain project structure to meet timelines, milestones, and deliverables
Demonstrated ability to plan, set priorities, organize, and coordinate with other workstreams to support larger project goals and objectives
Develop communication vehicles and materials to keep client and internal Guidehouse stakeholders informed on project progress and risks
Perform other project related duties as assigned by the engagement manager
Identify and escalate project scope problems internally and help manage externally with client
What You Will Need:
Bachelor's degree
8+ years of previous work experience in a healthcare consulting firm or a combination of healthcare industry and/or consulting experience
Experience with strategy consulting or experience within a major integrated healthcare system with focus on: service lines, facility strategy, enterprise strategy, financial strategy, M&A strategy, digital strategy, physician, Network, CIN and/or growth strategy
Experience on the Provider-side experience in health system, hospital strategy
Experience in broad-based provider financial modeling
Experience with project and/or program management
Experience providing quantitative analysis skills in data analysis, modeling and dashboards
Efficiency, flexibility, innovative problem-solving skills, a high level of motivation, and excellent organizational skills
Ability and proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access as well as the ability to conduct research
Ability to demonstrate a high level of written and oral communication skills
The ability to travel as necessary: 75%
Open to candidates in Central and Eastern time zones
What Would Be Nice To Have:
Master's degree in business, management, health policy and administration or other quantitative degree is a plus
5+ years of progressive advancement in a matrixed healthcare related strategy management consulting firm
Experience in value-based payment arrangements such as Medicare Advantage/Managed Care, risk contracting, shared savings arrangements, and/or post-acute care consulting.
