Associate Director - Infrastructure Lead

Lilly is investing to create a new state-of-the-art manufacturing site, in Lebanon, Indianapolis. The brand-new facility will utilize the latest technology for API Manufacturing and will include several platforms including Peptides, Small Molecules and Oligonucleotides Drug Substance Manufacturing. This is an exciting once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to help build and operate a new site.  The Lilly LP1 Lebanon site will be built using the latest high-tech equipment, advanced highly integrated and automated manufacturing systems, and have a focus on minimizing the impact to our environment.

What You’ll Be Doing:

You will be part of Tech@Lilly MQ (Manufacturing and Quality), an organization that drives manufacturing operational excellence and productivity efforts through utilization of technology. Tech@Lilly MQ strives to enable the making of medicine “with safety first and quality always”.

As an Infrastructure Architect your main function is the strategy, implementation and direction for IT managed site infrastructure including but not limited to business and manufacturing workstations, peripherals, printers, telecom, and others. The role will support multiple business groups such as Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering, Technical services/Manufacturing Science. The resource will also participate in ad-hoc site infrastructure projects and ensure enterprise and organizational cybersecurity practices are followed. . 

How You’ll Succeed:

Be a hands-on technical leader of technical specialists, focusing on service excellence,continued learning and innovation.Advocate for the advancement, innovation, and simplification of infrastructure services.Provide input to Business Plan and site strategic exercises to evolve and appropriatelylifecycle infrastructure components and capabilities.Design and implement standard processes to enable operational excellence in the deliveryof services.Understand and translate business operational requirements holistically with othertechnology partners to ensure the appropriate infrastructure foundation is capable, resilient,and scalable.Develop an in-depth understanding of business processes on site, applying this knowledgeto technical solutions that support and enhance these processes.Work with representatives across the site to analyze possibilities and implement solutionsthat improve business value.Critically evaluate user requests, using technical and process knowledge to determineunderlying business needs.Provide leadership and expertise in the development and integration of IT solutions thatsupport systems and business processes, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.Stay updated on the latest trends and technologies in cybersecurity, networking, storage,and compute, continuously seeking openings to innovate and improve existing systems.Perform technical requirements analysis of IT managed peripheral devices used at the facility – printers, barcode scanners, etc Coordinate with other Lilly groups and vendors regarding requirements, operating system requirements, additional hardware requirements and costs Assist with validation of new and existing systems by providing technical design information to assure GMP data integrity  

What You Should Bring:

GMP knowledge and training Extensive knowledge of enterprise networking, cybersecurity, and connected devices(workstations/PCs/peripherals) including hands-on experience with configuring connecteddevices for operation in enterprise segmented network environments.Demonstrated experience in the design, development, and delivery ofmanufacturing/clinical development IT infrastructure capabilities.Knowledge of enterprise compute and storage architecture, patterns, and solutions.Expertise cybersecurity risk assessment and cybersecurity best practices.Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices for securing and enabling resilient infrastructurecomponents and solutions.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process optimization andinnovation in lab and manufacturing environments.Ability to collaborate effectively with IT and business partners, providing guidance onproblem resolution and solution design and implementation.Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to lead and influence othersthrough sophisticated processes.

Your Basic Qualifications (with no sponsorship)

Bachelor’s Degree in IT, Engineering, or related technical field.10+ years of experience in a related field..

Additional Preferences

Experience in Pharmaceutical GMP ManufacturingExperience supporting Process Automation systems infrastructure.

Other Information:

Role is Monday through Friday and based on-site.  Must be flexible in providing support to accommodate other inputs (production schedules, shutdowns, etc.).  Occasional extended hour and / or off-hour work may be required.Position will be based out of Lebanon Indiana.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$123,000 - $180,400

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
