At Lilly in Germany, we are currently planning and building a high-tech production facility in Alzey (Rhineland-Palatinate), which will expand our production of injectable drugs from 2027 and employ up to 1,000 specialists. Associate Director - Intralogistics (m/w/d)
What tasks await you?
As the Associate Director - Intralogistics, you will report to the Senior Director of Supply Chain and Logistics and become an integral part of our dynamic Supply Chain and Logistics Lead team.
You will support a highly automated warehouse and intralogistics organization at a high-volume pharmaceutical manufacturing site, solving complex logistics problems to ensure robust operations. As a technical leader for intralogistics, you will optimize automated logistics systems, including ASRS and AGVs and mentor junior staff and. Additionally, you will liaise between logistics, IT, automation, and production, analyzing performance and developing solutions for unique challenges.
You will implement the overall strategy for intralogistics operations, ensuring alignment with company objectives.You will drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize material flow, reduce waste, and increase efficiency.You will ensure proper inventory management practices are in place, maintaining optimal stock levels and ensuring high inventory accuracy.You will lead the risk assessment and be part of the go live of automation and digital solutions in intralogistics, such as Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Warehouse Management Systems (eWM)You will ensure that all intralogistics activities comply with pharmaceutical regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company policies.You will establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor and report on the effectiveness of intralogistics operations.You will analyze performance data and use insights to make informed decisions and drive operational excellence.You will develop contingency plans for supply disruptions or emergencies, ensuring a robust response to minimize impact on manufacturing operations.You will develop a high-performing intralogistics team, providing mentorship, training, and career development opportunities.How do you convince us?
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Management, or a related field. A Master's degree in any of these disciplines is desirable.You bring 5+ year of intralogistics experienceWhile GMP/pharma experience is preferred, you can also bring your high interest in transferring your intralogistics expertise from other industries, such as automotive, and apply it to our regulated environment.You demonstrate strong Project Management skills, preferably within the Logistics or Supply Chain areas.You have proven ability to work across multiple organizations and sites to achieve accomplishments.You exhibit strong interpersonal and communication skills.You bring exceptional organizational skills, prioritize tasks effectively, communicate clearly, and have a keen eye for detail. Your flexibility allows you to juggle multiple tasks seamlessly without losing focus.Your strengths in teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and data analysis make you an invaluable asset, and you are excited to be part of the start-up journey.You have good German and English skills.The workplace is in Alzey.What can you look forward to with us?
