Associate Director - LRL Learning and Development Strategic Learning

The purpose of the Lilly Research Laboratories (LRL) Learning and Development Strategic Learning Associate Director role is to provide strategic direction for the LRL business functions that drives and enhances organizational capabilities. This role is responsible for cross-functional collaboration with key business partners, Lilly suppliers, and other L&D partners to ensure alignment between the learning strategy, curriculum architecture and implementation of the learning portfolio. This role supports large, cross-functional learning and performance solutions that ensure personnel are qualified and capable of performing their job responsibilities, fulfilling compliance requirements, and continually increasing their contribution to the business.

Learning and Performance Support

Performance ConsultingBuild and leverage relationships with LRL senior leadership and business partnersEffectively partner with all levels of the business and influence strategic learning solutionsEnsure budget requirements are included in the business plan, when neededAnticipate and resolve complex problems
 Strategy Development and ExecutionDevelop and execute comprehensive performance strategies to address short- and long-term large-scale solutions that support business objectivesWork in partnership with L&D leadership to scope and prioritize strategic and/or special projects
 Learning Solution Analysis and DevelopmentConduct needs and target audience analysis to identify learning and performance gapsDevelop innovative deliverables that provide meaningful and learner-centric solutions, as appropriateApply effective project management to ensure timely delivery of the performance solutionEffectively utilize technology to support development of learning and performance solutions (e.g., IT tools, video technology, etc.) and ensure they can be integrated with Lilly systemsPartner with Lilly select supplier and manage procurement activities, as neededManage budget for large-size projects or programsImplementationPartner with LRL L&D personnel to ensure effective communications are implemented as part of the overall L&D strategy with business partnersEvaluationDevelop appropriate evaluation plans for learning and performance solutions, when appropriate
 Audits/InspectionsSupport audit/inspection readiness and execution

Coaching and Personal Development

Establish a network of internal and external learning and business professionals and benchmark as appropriate
 

Minimum Qualification Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in education, instructional design, performance technology, or related programs5 years of experience in proactive strategic learning, capability development consultation, performance consulting, instructional design, and program/portfolio management

M.S. degree in Instructional Systems Technology, Adult Learning or related experience/educationHuman Performance Improvement (HPI) CertificationWorking knowledge of and/or experience in a regulated environmentWorking knowledge of Global Patient Safety regulationsDemonstrated ability in communication, conflict resolution, using good judgment, and managing complexityDemonstrated ability to effectively work in a collaborative environment and build trust with internal and external business partnersDemonstrated ability to scope and lead learning projectsDemonstrated success in influencing without authorityEffective problem-solving skills to evaluate and resolve business and organizational problemsProven proficiency in utilizing Microsoft 365 applications and A-I applications
