What you will do:
The role is to deliver an effective model advisory management capability in Europe for wholesale business and forms part of Global CMB Financial Resource Management team
In this role you will:
Advocate and make sure business considerations are reflected in Wholesale IRB models and models are commercially intuitive, while enabling the right balance between risk and commercial outcomes by working closely with Global Risk Analytics and business representatives during model development initiativesWork closely with Risk, WCL and IT teams and provide business guidance and oversight to make sure model implementations are delivered at pace and to plan, including timely escalation of issues to senior management.Support frontline with implementation and usage of new models by preparing model user guides, delivering training to relationship managers, and providing post-implementation support to relationship managersAct as a model expert to provide useful insights, guidance, and support to wide range of business and risk stakeholders, including model advisory support to the frontline and Credit Approvers during deal origination and rating assessmentKeep abreast of regulatory and model landscape changes, assessing how these changes impact business, strategy and customer outcomes and informing senior managementAdvocate for business and Review / challenge new credit risk policy proposals to make sure commercial / business views are reflected and polices are efficient to be operationalized by the businessMonitor closely model usage, judgmental overrides and model performance to understand KPIs and trends, identify key issues, assess impact to wholesale business and propose actionsContribute and support ideation and delivery of return enhancing opportunities, including capital optimization through modelsAt HSBC, our purpose is opening up a world of opportunity and by joining our team, you can be part of something bigger We are committed to removing barriers and ensuring careers at HSBC are inclusive and accessible.

Experience in Frontline Relationship Management, Debt Origination or Portfolio ManagementProgressive and proven core banking skills with a strong understanding of wholesale business strategy, products, portfolio, and credit lendingWorking knowledge of what Wholesale IRB models are, in which business and risk processes they are used and how they impact business and commercial outcomesExperience presenting complex issues confidently, simply, and concisely to diverse stakeholders from across wholesale business and functionsStrong and proven stakeholder management and influencing skills with ability to foster strong collaborative partnershipsStrong planning and execution skills with proven track of getting it done and delivering resultsTenacity and willingness to learn and challenge even with senior stakeholders; keen to share front line commercial insights to help drive strategic changeEven if you feel you do not meet 100% of our qualifications, we encourage you to apply, if you believe this role is right for you.
