Job Description
 

Gilead's mission is to discover, develop, and deliver therapies that will improve the lives of patients with life-threatening illnesses worldwide. As an Associate Director Marketing, Personal Customer Experience, HIV Prevention, you will play a critical and exciting role in helping the US marketing organization support the current HIV prevention therapy and potentially launch future HIV prevention therapies, with a focus on injectable PrEP.

This role is based in Foster City, CA, and requires an on-site presence at minimum three days a week; remote or off-site work is not permitted.

Responsibilities:

Supports day-to-day marketing efforts for the Nurse Educator field-based team and virtual programming related to "Administration” activation. This includes operations and the development of innovative educational materials and resources for injection training (both print and digital), as well as program measurement and optimization.

Assists in the development and implementation of Access, Acquisition, and Implementation POA for HCPs, Offices, and Consumers (including content, materials, and messages) to ensure they are fit for purpose and can be integrated across teams and channels.

Creates content and executes tactics in alignment with strategy while continuously assessing impact. Tactics may include print leave-behinds, other field resources, and conference tactics.

Manages and supports the promotional budget and estimates for assigned initiatives. Oversees agencies and partners to ensure timely delivery within budget; manages regular finance and status reporting.

Contributes to the annual strategic and tactical plan for HIV prevention.

Executes and implements customer experience optimizations related to the pipeline.

Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of various marketing mix components and leverages this knowledge for integrated execution and overall plan measurement.

Understands the nuances of multiple data sources and is skilled in developing, executing, and communicating plans based on insights and analysis.

Applies strong business acumen in analyzing and coordinating activities based on identified industry trends, competitive resources, and practices.

Sets priorities under ongoing complex and conflicting circumstances and provides logical recommendations.

Ensures all marketing activities and materials comply with regulatory and legal requirements and adhere to established internal SOPs.

Develops and delivers presentations for various internal stakeholders and external audiences.

Sets a positive example for others by sharing expertise, modeling performance standards, and offering guidance and support.

Obtains approval for marketing materials by adhering to an internal review process that includes managing reviews and Med-Legal-Reg, ultimately ensuring secure final production.

Supports HCP conferences, field ride-alongs, and agency meetings as necessary; approximately 15-20% travel required.

Collaborates effectively across functions with Marketing, Sales, Legal, Regulatory, Medical, Market Research, Analytics, Managed Markets, Sales Training, and other key internal stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Ten Years’ Experience

OR

Masters' Degree and Eight Years’ Experience

OR

PhD and Two Years’ Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience

In-line marketing experience is required, with field sales experience preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related fields preferred; MBA welcomed

Demonstrated excellence in project management including planning, prioritization, execution, analytical assessment, and performance management.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to lead, interact with, focus, resolve conflict, and drive consensus among individuals from a variety of cultures, and disciplines

Excellent communications skills with an ability to effectively communicate both orally and written

Understanding of biopharmaceutical regulatory and business conduct requirements.

Understanding of complex market access landscape and multiple acquisition pathways

The successful candidate will be highly collaborative, perceptive, and an analytical problem solver with a track record of success in the pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical industry.

Should have a talent for creative thinking and problem-solving.

Should adapt and succeed in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Significant experience managing cross-functional teams or work groups preferred

Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively within a team

The salary range for this position is: $195,670.00 - $253,220.00. Gilead considers a variety of factors when determining base compensation, including experience, qualifications, and geographic location. These considerations mean actual compensation will vary. This position may also be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, discretionary stock-based long-term incentives (eligibility may vary based on role), paid time off, and a benefits package.
