The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, this Associate Director of Administrative Applications leads a team of IT professionals that create and maintain solutions at an intersection of people, business process, and technology. This position oversees the assessment, planning, implementation, and management of projects related to internal data management, analytics and process automation. The Associate Director also works closely with the ILR IT Director to provide strategic guidance to senior management around prioritization, planning, implementation, and effective use of highly complex and interconnected solutions, technologies, and projects spanning many departments and affecting the entire school. The role will have active business analysis and technical functions as well, as detailed below.

What we need:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field, or equivalent education and experience.Minimum of 3 years managing administrative application development teams with a proven track record of leading and coaching technical staff.Minimum of 5 years of applicable and progressively more sophisticated technical experience.Experience working with security, privacy and regulatory compliance in Information Technologies.Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to clearly communicate to customers and peers at all levels of technical understanding.Proven track record of creating and nurturing professional working relationships at all levels.Proven ability to handle conflicting objectives and situations collaboratively and with diplomacy.Proven ability to understand and analyze business needs and processes and use that knowledge to provide insightful input to help leadership make informed decisions when presented with multiple strategic options.Proven ability to translate user needs into technical requirements.Proven ability to organize, prioritize, manage and carry out projects in the area of Information Technology.Understanding of relational database management and how to develop a data model.Understanding of how XML, JSON, REST and other data protocols and standards relate to data management, integration and storage solutions.Understanding of database querying using SQL or SOQL.Ability to manage parallel priorities while staying organized and following proper procedures, in a dynamic, changing environment.Desire to continually learn and grow, incorporating new concepts and technologies into strategic thinking.Experience in and/or demonstrated commitment to supporting diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and wellbeing.You will be a top candidate with our preferred qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years as a professional Salesforce administrator with declarative development skills.Management of an application development team specializing in Salesforce in a higher education environment.Experience with data analytics.Experience as a project manager on a technical team.Understanding of Salesforce dev-ops as applied to a small team.Experience creating programmatic Salesforce solutions.Understanding of principles of object-oriented programming.Experience with a scripting language such as Powershell or PythonExperience in working with diverse populationsThis is a full-time, non-academic staff, benefits eligible opportunity located in Ithaca, NY, within the ILR School on the Cornell University campus. The role offers the flexibility to work a hybrid schedule, with a 2:3 in-office to remote work arrangement.
