Associate Director of Annual Giving
Position Information Position Title Associate Director of Annual Giving FLSA Exempt Primary Responsibilities Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, the Associate Director of Annual Giving will be responsible for leading and coordinating the reunion fundraising component of the St. Lawrence Fund. This includes the identification, recruitment, and management of reunion fundraising volunteers. The Associate Director will work with members of University Advancement staff and the Reunion Committee Chairs (volunteers) to coordinate and make solicitations for gifts within these milestone classes. S/he will manage a portfolio of leadership donors and oversee the overall solicitation and cultivation strategies for leadership donors. The Associate Director travels to visit with leadership prospects, and reunion volunteers s/he has determined should be cultivated. This position also requires travel to staff Laurentian events as necessary each year. Duties/Responsibilities [40%] Reunion Volunteer Recruitment and Management + In partnership with the Associate Director of Laurentian Engagement, identify, recruit, train, and manage Reunion Committees for milestone Reunion classes. Initiate volunteer recruitment and management work in the year prior for the 50th Reunion milestone. + Develop solicitation strategies that include annual, capital, and planned gift components for alumni in reunion and for highly rated reunion prospects (e.g. GiveCampus campaigns, direct written and email appeals). Assist gift officers with solicitation strategies for their reunion prospects. Serve as a key resource for other annual giving staff members who work with reunion milestone classes or affinities. + In conjunction with the Office of Planned Giving, develop and coordinate planned giving strategies for the 50th Reunion milestone. + Track fundraising progress (e.g. GiveCampus Reunion Campaign) and create opportunities for best practices. + Work with reunion committees, excluding the 1st and 5th reunion classes, to develop class donor and dollar challenges. [30%] Leadership Fundraising + Develop leadership solicitation strategies for both assigned and unassigned prospects to support the St. Lawrence Fund. Solicit these prospects personally, while strategically working with major gift officers to maximize impact. Manage a portfolio of key Laurentian leadership donors, prospects, and volunteers. + Oversee the leadership stewardship program and engagement opportunities both on and off-campus. [20%] Travel to meet with Laurentian donors, prospects, volunteers, and staff off-campus events as assigned. [10%] Perform other duties as assigned or requested to meet departmental goals and objectives. Minimum Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree required. + A minimum of three years of experience in fundraising, sales, marketing, or a related field required. Comparable experience in higher education with a focus on development, alumni relations, admissions, communications, athletics, or student life will be considered. + Excellent organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. + Exposure to using relational databases; experience with The Raiser’s Edge and GiveCampus preferred. + Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team, build effective relationships, and manage multiple projects simultaneously. + Ability to develop strong relationships with Laurentians with the highest degree of professionalism. + A willingness to travel frequently and to work some evenings and weekends. Preferred Qualifications Salary Salary range $60,406 - $62,000 annually. Actual rate will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
