Associate Director of Community Services
60406.00-66175.00 per year | NY, USA | Salary | Full Time Reports to: Director of Community Services Schedule: Full Time, Monday thru Friday - start times vary depending on department needs Department: Community Services The Associate Director of Community Services assists the Director in supervising the activities and operation of the agency's Community Services Department including Community Habilitation, In Home Respite, DHHS Preventive, Fiscal Intermediary, Broker, Self-Directed Services, Cash Subsidy, Housing, Supported Employment, Acces-VR, and ETP. Have the ability to interpret and write, guidelines, policies and procedures as related to the operations of the Community Services department and the agency. Qualifications: + Any combination of education and experience that demonstrates the abilities and knowledge for successful performance will be considered. + Bachelor's degree in the Human Service field; five years of experience working with individuals with developmental /intellectual disabilities; four years of supervisory experience; four years self-direction experience are preferred. + Must have a valid New York State Driver's License, a reliable vehicle and meet Lifetime Assistance vehicle operator requirements. Key Responsibilities: 1. Assist Director with the development and day-to-day operation of the Community Services Department and Supported Employment Services.2. Responsible for the supervision, training and evaluation of assigned staff. Assists the Director with recruitment, hiring and retention of staff.3. Responsible for all areas of responsibility to meet OPWDD requirements, including Part 624, Part 633 and Part 635 regulations.4. Assures that all individuals are receiving self-directed services and have the opportunity to give feedback on the services that they receive.5. Monitors all programs within the department to assure that they operate within spending plan limits.6. Assures that all units of service are met for all programs assigned.7. Works collaboratively with other agencies and community staff on special projects as assigned.8. Maintains positive and productive relationships with representatives of OPWDD, DDRO, DHHS, and other community services and supports. Acts as a resource to agency staff in areas of expertise.9. Assures effective communication and coordination among individuals, families, service providers and responsible staff.10. Assures that each assigned program maintain minimum caseload requirements and units of service.11. Serves as a role model while promoting positive, professional behaviors and interactions for all staff and consumers. Maintains neat appearance, hygiene and grooming.12. Represent the Community Services Department at designated community-based collaboratives and/or committees.13.
