**The College of Engineering has an exciting opening for an Associate Director of Corporate & Foundation Relations. This is a full-time, permanent position.**
The Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations (CFR) is responsible for developing and executing strategies to raise corporate support and private grants for the College of Engineering and the Electrical & Computing Engineering Department. Engineering Corporate and Foundation Relations engages in an interdisciplinary and interdepartmental process working across units, at times, to address the needs of industry partnerships.
The Associate Director will be an integral part of an Advancement team that values respectful collaboration, shared leadership, professional growth and impactful contributions. This role will play a crucial role in developing strategic funding priorities and creating compelling tools, such as funding menus and proposals, while managing relationships with internal stakeholders.
**What You Will Do:** **Frontline Fundraising (75%)**
• Manage a portfolio of corporate and foundation gift and grant prospects using the University’s prospect management and tracking system.
• Identify corporate and foundation gift and grant prospects and implement a cultivation, solicitation and stewardship plan for these donors.
• Develop and present proposals to corporations and foundations for significant support ($25K+ focus) and, when applicable, provide guidance to campus colleagues who will make the solicitation.
• Prepare written proposals and informational materials to secure support.
• Work with academic leaders and faculty to prepare proposals to prepare proposals that outline the aligned interests of the University and corporation while also ensuring the corporation’s requirements are met.
• Ensure awareness for corporate funding opportunities to College faculty.
• Travel to corporate and foundation offices to represent the College for the purpose of identifying prospective partners, presenting proposals and/or stewarding existing relationships.
• Develop itineraries, goals and briefing materials for corporate and foundation visits that involve the dean, faculty and other University partners.
• In consultation with senior directors, establish annual goals, objectives and strategies.
**Program Development and Management (20%)**
• Assist the college’s advancement leadership team in developing an annual plan, including goals, objectives and strategies.
• Coordinate and manage the participation of the dean, academic leaders, administrators, volunteers and advancement staff in corporate fundraising activities.
• Understand and help address compliance issues related to corporate relations, including conflict of interest, classification of gifts and grants, and gift policy. Ensure the Corporate and Foundation Relations team adheres to all relevant regulations, policies and procedures.
• Conduct training opportunities for staff and volunteers on corporate development.
Other duties (5%)
**MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS**
Bachelor's degree and five years of experience in development/advancement or related field, with an emphasis on cultivating and soliciting major gifts.
**Equivalent education/experience will substitute for all minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license/certification/registration.** **What You Bring:**

• Ability to work independently, problem solve, take initiative, set priorities and handle multiple projects efficiently and effectively.
• Demonstrated creativity, organizational ability and strong attention to detail.
• Executive decision-making ability along with a high level of discretion and tact when engaging with donors, alumni and corporate partners.
• Knowledge of the integrated advancement model as well as alumni relations/development/advancement principles.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office for generating correspondence, special reports and spreadsheets; familiarity and comfort with industry-standard CRM and/or other broad-based engagement software and tools.
• A valid Washington State driver’s license is required to operate the UW Alumni Association van.
