Position Summary:

Florida Atlantic University is seeking an Associate Director of Gift Fund Accounting and Integrity– Boca Raton, FL.

Summary of Responsibilities include:

Management and oversight of gift funds, including set-up, adequate documentation, modifications, closures, fund utilization, and gift integrity.Supervise gift administration, including establishing new gift numbers and data entry in all IA systems and obtaining gift documentation.Analyze fund activity and balances to ensure gift spending is properly utilized in accordance with the donor’s intent and the university’s strategic plan.Oversee the implementation of gift integrity/compliance initiatives to ensure donor intent.Provide support, including research and solution-focused responses to university stakeholders and/or budget managers upon request for information.Manage and monitor the volume of informational requests to ensure responses are provided in a timely manner.Collaborate with management and legal counsel, where applicable, when evaluating changes to gift funds and/or use of funds.Provide training and ongoing education for university stakeholders regarding policies, procedures, and best practices for fund utilization, donor intent, and gift compliance/integrity.Collaborate with technical and general accounting teams to ensure the timely use of funds and flow of information.Provide support and collaborate with the development team to steward donor expectations and ensure gift funds are managed in alignment with the University’s mission and strategic goals.Demonstrate and facilitate excellent customer service to stakeholders when providing guidance, responding to questions, and delivering training.Support annual reporting to provide endowment report information both internally and externally.Represent FAU Foundation and Institutional Advancement in appropriate departmental meetings and/or University committees.Supervise direct reports, manage the allocation of tasks, and ensure completion in a timely manner.Provide cross-training within the area of responsibility and throughout the department.Other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and four years of appropriate experience; or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and six years of appropriate experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

High-level of management/supervisory experience, with the ability to lead and engage multiple direct reports, stakeholders, and disciplines.

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Expert proficiency with MS Excel. Experienced proficiency with MS Word, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of laws, regulations, and other administrative requirements.

Able to work independently and as part of a team, manage projects, determine priorities, and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality.

Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail and accuracy.

Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with month-end reporting deadlines.
Familiarity Workday ERP system.

Experience with government and/or not-for-profit accounting standards.

Work experience in the industry of higher education.

Ability to make sound judgments and decisions.

CPA or other related industry certification.

Salary:

$110,000 - $125,000 per year.
