Associate Director of Residence Life for Housing Operation

The Associate Director serves an integral role in advancing the mission of the Office of Residence Life. This position is responsible for implementing the administrative responsibilities and educational programming of Residence Life and for Residential Area staff. This is a twelve-month, live-off position.

·         Serve as a strategic partner with the Associate Dean of Community Living & Housing to oversee essential operational and technological functions such as housing assignments and occupancy management, data collection and reporting, strategic planning, fiscal management, policy development, maintaining and deepening internal and external partner relationships.  This includes assuming all or partial leadership responsibility in the Associate Dean's absence or designation.

      Oversee all logistical aspects of Residence Life including, but not limited to assignment processes, move in days, opening and closing procedures, community development model, etc., including all training, implementation, and assessment.  Included is training and support for key platforms and software utilized by Residence Life and evaluation on ways to create innovation with new and existing technologies.  In addition, Assoc. D of RL facilities all departmental communication, both print and digital, as well as administering and updating Residence Life web and print assets.    ·         Directly supervise, mentor, and develop resident directors and residence assistants assigned to their area. ·         Provide senior-level response to emergency and crisis incidents serving as central coordinator of university resources and residence life personnel for weekly on-call rotation for 24/7 year-round response including evenings and weekends.  This includes serving as a member of the university's Behavioral Intervention Team, and adjudicating escalated student conduct concerns.   ·         Provide problem solving and service response to inquiries and concerns from Residence Life constituents including but not limited to residential students, parents and families, as well as prospective students.   ·         Assist in the daily operation and functions of the physical Office of Residence Life including answering phones and electronic communication when needed as well as meeting with those entering the main office.  This includes providing guidance and assistance to student employees as well as helping maintain the physical office.    ·         Contribute to the educational mission of the department by overseeing educational and programming initiatives, planning and executing required and supplemental training and development of residential staff.   ·         Other duties as assigned.
