Associate Director - Operations
**Goals:** • Set goals and targets and utilizes KPIs to monitor and improve performance of the Manufacturing and Engineering departments. • Interface with Site Director as a supportive member of the Abbott Nutrition manufacturing management team. • Develop Supplier resilience in collaboration with the SQA team and Supply chain teams • Work closely with the quality fraternity for improvement projects/tasks • Ensure good communication and cooperation by encouraging knowledge sharing and the open exchange of ideas within manufacturing and Engineering departments • Promote and foster good human relations within manufacturing and Engineering departments. • Liaise with Human Resources in the recruitment and selection of personnel, in full compliance with company policies and procedures and local recruitment legislation. • Ensure continued implementation of goals, performance reviews and growth plans as scheduled. • Provide leadership with respect to best practice initiatives such as Class A, CAPA, HACCP and ISO systems. • Actively support preparations for internal finance, quality and EHS audits and external audits to achieve successful results. **Responsibilities:** • Interpersonal skills in order to have healthy relationship with colleagues working in different functions at site. • Communication skills in order to understand and provide necessary feedback or solutions to Peers and internal customers. • Strategic thinking in order to go in depth understanding of Manufacturing and Engineering operations and related complex issues and provide the best feasible solutions at all levels • Decision making skills in order to handle the different problems in operations **Education:** • Minimum of Bachelors Degree in Science, Engineering or related discipline • Lean/Six Sigma credentials (e.g. Green Belt/Black Belt) an advantage **Background:** • Good grasp of manufacturing finance processes. • Excellent oral and written communication skills. • Good human relation skills in dealing with employees at all levels • The ability to organize, motivate and develop people. • A demonstrated commitment to compliance. • 15 years experience in operations positions in a manufacturing environment. • 5 years experience at a senior operations management situation. • Background and experience needed to make sound quality-related decisions An Equal Opportunity Employer Abbot welcomes and encourages diversity in our workforce.
