Title: Associate Director, Project Management (Medical Affairs) Location: Brisbane, CA/Remote About Us: Vera Therapeutics (Nasdaq: VERA), is a late clinical-stage biotechnology company focused on developing treatments for serious immunological diseases. Position Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Associate Director, Project Management who will report to the VP, Product & Portfolio Management. The ideal candidate will work with the Medical Affairs and Publications team to coordinate and oversee the planning and execution of key medical affairs programs in alignment with corporate and therapeutic goals. Responsibilities: * Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets for medical affairs programs, such as medical education, publications, and scientific congresses. * Coordinate the development of abstracts, posters, manuscripts, and presentations for scientific congresses and peer-reviewed journals. * Manage the tracking of Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement plans. * Act as a liaison between Medical Affairs leaders and functional teams, gathering and disseminating key decisions and updates across cross-functional workstreams and activities. * Support the development and maintenance of the Smartsheet or PPT environment necessary to manage medical affairs and publications reporting, including creating/maintaining templates and dashboards, setting up automation, and transferring existing plans. * Integrate activities and timelines with other functional areas, including Clinical Research, Regulatory, Commercial, Clinical Operations, and IT. * Provide project management support for Medical Affairs meetings and events. * Support relationships with external vendors, including medical writing agencies, publication platforms, and graphic designers. * May support other programs. Qualifications: * 8+ years of experience in project management in medical affairs or publication planning within the pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare industry. * Proven track record of managing publication projects across multiple therapeutic areas or products. * Familiarity with scientific congresses, peer-reviewed journals, and industry publication processes. * Proficient in publication management software such as PleaseReview or Veeva. * Proven ability to manage competing priorities, budgets, and timelines in a fast-paced, rapid-growth environment. * Ability to work with ambiguity and create new, more efficient processes. Desire to bring order and organization to a newly developing organization. * Experience in Smartsheet is preferred but not required. * High level of accuracy and attention to detail. * Ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders across the organization at all levels. * Highly skilled in working collaboratively with cross-functional teams and contractors to drive results and meet company objectives. * Ability to distill, organize, and effectively communicate (verbal and written) key messages from complex discussions. * Self-directed and proactive, with the ability to function independently in certain situations, exercise good judgment, and respond quickly and effectively to changing environments. * Ability to deal with uncertainty and unanticipated challenges in a constructive manner and generate options for moving forward. * Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Project, Visio, or other timeline tools. For this role, the anticipated base pay range is $139,000 - $183,000. The exact base pay offered for this role will depend on various factors, including but not limited to the candidate's geography, qualifications, skills, and experience. At Vera, base pay is only one part of your total compensation package. The successful candidate will be eligible for an annual performance incentive bonus, new hire equity, and ongoing performance-based equity.
