Associate Director - Specialty Care Business Unit

Dynamic and strategic business leader to lead all commercial aspects of the BU, including leading both the sales and marketing teams in the therapeutic area(s). This role demands a visionary result driven leader with a robust understanding of the pharma market combined with the agility to utilize all available channels for an effective business strategy and execution. The BU Leader will not only pave the path for the brands of the TA but also set the standard for innovative approaches within the pharmaceutical industry.

The Business Unit Associate Director should:

Be a visible model of leadership, managerial excellence, integrity and champion the Team Lilly approach to bring high performance standardsWork with regional and local leadership to achieve the business objectives and ensure the strategy, people and processes are aligned to optimize effectiveness and efficiencies.Demonstrate a strong, personal commitment and model behaviors towards an inclusive culture that engenders excellence, accountability and execution, while retaining a safe, open, honest and an engaging workplaceLeadership: Understanding and facilitating group interactions that engage and inspire positive performance, setting high expectations and ensuring the best customer experience. Responsible for establishing current and long-range objectives and setting operational plans that will enable reaching and exceeding the objectives.Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with cross functional teams - medical affairs, corporate affairs, market access, supply chain, to ensure alignment and maximize the impact of the brand strategies to allow flawless execution.Strategic Planning: Overseeing & determining the strategic vision of the TA brands and sales teams. From the strategic business plan to incorporating market research, competitive analysis, and customer insights. Ensure the teams collaborate well and are in close contact with the regional teams to adapt and refine the global strategies, to fit the specific needs and dynamics of the local market.Innovation Management: Identify and implement innovative techniques and technologies to reach and educate our target audiences effectively. Ensure the leverage of digital, social, and traditional channels to engage healthcare professionals and patients, tailoring messages appropriately for each audience.Performance Analysis: Track sales and marketing performance against objectives, utilizing metrics and analytics.Market Insight: Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive activities, and regulatory developments that impact the therapeutic area.Stakeholder Engagement: Support all functions in building and maintaining relationships with key external stakeholders, including KOLs, patient groups, and professional associations. Resource allocation: Responsible for the management and overall profitability of the BU at local level including all aspects - HR, financial and technical.People management & development: Leads the recruitment, training and development of managerial staff, and motivates them to function effectively and professionally.Ethical conduct: Maintain strict adherence to all relevant procedures and regulations, ensuring all activities are fully compliant with local and international standards.

Adept in strategic thinking coupled with strong business acumen, capable of crafting and implementing high-level plans that align with business objectives.Superior analytical skills, embracing a data-driven approach for decision-making and strategic development.Exceptional planning and organizational skills, with an ability to foresee, plan, and ensure execution of complex projects effectively.

Professional Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in a leadership role within the pharmaceutical industry.Brand Management experience in Innovative pharma industry experiencePrior Immunology, Rheumatology or Oncology experience including working with Key Opinion Leaders would be a PlusExperience in the given TA of the BU will be an advantage.Prior experience as a sales representative or sales team manager.

Educational Background:

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or scientific discipline.An MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification is highly desirable.
