Associate Director - Strategic Planning & Business Development

Overview
The position works under the guidance of the Senior Director and alongside other key members of the senior management team, to support the system’s strategic planning and deployment processes, inclusive of focused efforts to build out and manage a system strategic initiatives portfolio. This position will also support market landscape analysis and other research efforts in support of strategy projects and business development efforts.
Responsibilities
* Strategic Planning
* Supports the strategic planning & deployment process for the system and individual system members. Updates the strategic plan and adjusts based on market changes, expansion opportunities, competitive threats, and viability of outside business partners.
* Assesses D-HH's operational and strategic performance, conducting organizational reviews and collaborating with key members of the leadership team to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats that will influence the long-term direction of the system.
* Creates and updates the system strategic initiative portfolio to drive annual strategy deployment.
* Provides support and insight into proposed organizational changes (e.g. shift in strategic focus, partnerships, mergers).
* Business Planning and Development
* Assists with the development of a business planning methodology to support successful performance of strategic imperatives for Dartmouth Health.
* Collaborates with clinical, administrative and finance leaders to develop opportunity assessments for system level initiatives
* Assesses potential clinical and non-clinical service line opportunities by analyzing population health needs, market strategies, available resources, financial opportunity, internal priorities and required investment.
* Supports system-wide initiatives to ensure that new business opportunities are equipped with adequate infrastructure and processes to support growth.
* Supports the Senior Director in the management of the clinical integration portfolio
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in Business, Healthcare Administration or other relevant field required.
* 4-7 years of functional and leadership experience with significant experience in a leadership position(s).
* Demonstrated ability to lead change management initiatives.
* Previous supervisory/leadership experience required.
* Must be able to influence, negotiate, and resolve conflicts to reach consensus around common goals.
* Ability to collaborate, communicate and manage relationships across functions, service lines and members.
* Strong leadership, management vision and purpose, interpersonal skills, executive presence, talent mindset and relationship management skills.
* Advanced ability to influence peers, senior leaders and others who are not direct reports.
* Innovative problem solving and strategic thinking skills, along with strong business acumen and analytical capabilities.
* Extensive experience communicating with all levels of an organization (written, verbal and presentation).
* Prior experience working in health systems is required.
