Associate Director Technology & Design Support CAPEX
Purpose of the role
Reporting to the Director of Technology & Early Design within Organon Engineering & Solutions (OE&S), this role is integral to our Organon Science and Technology division. You will be supporting design (management) of capital projects and troubleshooting/problem solving for relevant technology issues. Your role is crucial in ensuring Organon's projects meet high standards and drive business success. You'll work with diverse teams, balancing technical expertise with project management skills to deliver optimal outcomes.
Main responsibilities
As a key player in Organon's engineering team, you'll wear many hats and contribute significantly to our capital projects. Here's what you can expect in your role:
Partner with Organon sites on their projectsSpearhead FEL (Feasibility Evaluation )1 and FEL2 phases of capital projectsOffer expertise on large projects or manage smaller ones independentlyEnsure project scope aligns with business goalsGuide projects through FEL0, FEL1, and FEL2 stagesAssist with cost estimates and schedulesChallenge design teams to meet project objectivesCollaborate across departments and with external partnersProvide technical troubleshooting for the global Organon networkOffer input on externally managed projectsDevelop and maintain specialized technical knowledgeMentor assigned engineersServe as a subject matter expert for engineering standardsOversee the community of practice for technology and designLead initiatives to enhance engineering work processesManage the continuous improvement of the Road MapAct as sub-owner of the CAPEX Engineering Road Map systemGather market intelligence and conduct benchmarkingCreate templates and training materials for engineering topicsYour profile
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering (or similar field)8-10 years of experience in process industry, preferably pharmaceuticalsProven track record in complex capital projects, especially front-end engineering and designStrong leadership, teamwork and communication abilitiesExcellent analytical skills and engineering fundamentalsCreative problem-solving approachHands-on attitude and flexibilityFluent in English, with proficiency in at least one other language (Spanish, Dutch, or Portuguese preferred)Prepared to spend up to 50% of your time traveling, mainly to European locationsWhat we offer
