The **Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS),** Vertical Lift Division is seeking an associate **Drive System Design Engineer** (Level 2) to support the development of gearbox and related drive system components in **Ridley Park, Pennsylvania** . Our team provides a wide range of support on programs across the enterprise, primary the Army’s AH-6, AH-64, CH-47, MH-47, the Air Force’s CV-22, MH-139, and Marines/Navy’s MV-22, CMV-22. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a contribution in the design and development of rotorcraft transmission systems. Along with these programs the Ridley Park site supports a large portfolio of products including other Vertical Lift Programs, Commercial Aircraft, Fixed Wing Fighters, Satellites, Space Launch Systems, and many others. **Position Overview:** The Drive System Design Engineer will be a part of a high-performing team that are immersed in high development projects in rotorcraft transmission systems including gearboxes, lubrication systems, shafting, bearings, seals etc. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to develop detail designs. **Primary Responsibilities:** + Develops gearbox and related component detail and assembly designs. + Analyzes results and performs design reviews. + Develops and maintains product detail, assembly and installation designs. + Provides engineering design disposition on discrepancies (e.g., rejection tags, production action requests, shop revision requests). + Documents processes, specifications and procedures that support the design and manufacture of drive system parts and assemblies. + Develops basic statements of work. + Participates in technical review of supplier capabilities to facilitate source selection. + Works under general direction. **This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.** **This position requires the ability to obtain U.S. Security Clearance post start, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An** **interim** **and/or** **final** **U.S.** **S** **ecret clearance Post Start** **is** **required.** **Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience):** _(see required education and experience for this level below_ + Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science. + 1+ years of experience in mechanical system design. + 1+ years of experience working with computer aided design such as CATIA, Solidworks, or Siemens NX. + 1+ years of experience working with product data manager such as IPDM Teamcenter, or Enovia. + 1+ years of experience working with rotorcraft transmission systems (Design and Analysis). **Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):** + 1 year or more of experience working in the defense or aerospace industry. + 1 year or more of experience working with CATIA. + 1 year or more of experience performing structural analysis (FEM) **Typical** **Education/Experience:** Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. **Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years** ' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. **Master** ). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. **Relocation:** Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position.
