JOB DESCRIPTION

Fox News Digital is looking for a full-time Associate Editor, SEO to join the team! You will have the opportunity to be part of a team that writes, produces, and optimizes news content to drive organic traffic for FoxNews.com and FoxBusiness.com. You will need to be a fast, accurate writer and researcher and strong understanding of SEO with a broad range of interests: from politics and business to entertainment and lifestyle to US and world affairs. If you want to write multiple stories a day and want to become experienced in news SEO, this could be your dream job.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

Write SEO-driven, high-quality, unique, informative, and interesting content to be featured across FOX platforms to support organic traffic goals

Assist management in pitching content strategies, data analysis and tracking KPIs, metrics as needed

Support management, peers in completion of overflow projects to ensure daily, weekly, monthly goals and tasks are met

Absorb company SEO best practices in trainings and work across verticals to educate editorial teams

Conduct keyword research and site searches for related content, important search terms and optimize published, unpublished articles with key terms, result opportunities in mind

Pitch trending topics to editorial teams daily

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

SEO experience at a major news/media organization or brand

Deep understanding of on-page SEO best practices, ranking factors

Basic understanding of off-page SEO best practices, ranking factors, and search engine algorithms

Knowledge of both newsworthy and evergreen content development strategies and content analysis

Experience tracking KPIs, search metrics

Proven quality SEO writing skills across various ranking result types including Regular Search Results, Quick Answers, People Also Ask, Images, etc.

Proficient in SEO software tools including Google Trends, Google Search Console, Trisolute, BrightEdge or similar

Experience with CMS including Wordpress

Strong written and verbal communication skills, eagerness to learn

Excellent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines, organized, detail-oriented and reliable with a ‘can do’ attitude

Passion for the news, fast-paced environments and shifting focus on any given day

A Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field of study preferred, or equivalent experience

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $61,000.00-70,000.00 annually for New York City and Westchester County, NY. This role is also eligible for various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
