This role should bring extensive experience in mission-critical electrical engineering and integrated team delivery within the sector, contributing to the overall tactical leadership of the Stantec mission-critical team. The aim is to help grow and lead the existing mission-critical engineering practice in the UK and EMEA. This position will lead strategic projects, be client facing, responsible for business development, contribute to project delivery standards and work processes, provide quality control, workload forecasting, financial performance accountability and collaboration with other disciplines. For more info on our Building Services projects and team, please click on the link:- Stantec Building Services **Key Responsibilities** Business Development: + Be a primary contributor to growing Stantec’s Electrical Engineering practice in UK Interface regularly with additional electrical and mechanical engineering leaders and contribute within the Global integrated design practice. + Develop and maintain industry relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, sub-consultants, and partner firms + Develop presentation materials and present to clients and at strategic industry events. + Represent the firm through published articles, public speaking engagements and attendance at industry and community events, meetings, and conferences. + Develop project proposals. + Assist the marketing department with the development of electrical engineering marketing materials and content. People and Practice Management: + Help hire and lead a team consisting of electrical engineers, designers, and CAD/Revit production staff. + In conjunction with other stakeholders, identify and forecast staff needs and assignments based on current and projected workload and SME requirements. + Hold project team members accountable for technical excellence, delivery standards, and best practices. + Ensure compliance with best practices. Project Design and Delivery: + Work with PM's and SMEs on key projects to develop and deliver client drawings, specifications, presentations, reports, and other deliverables. + Successfully manage projects of significant scope, complexity, and revenue budget. + Apply buildings engineering and project management knowledge while leading cross-functional resources to meet project requirements within established timeframes and budgets. + Meet technical, contractual, schedule, budgetary and client service objectives for projects. + Apply strong engineering skills, experience and knowledge to the design and oversight of the design for building projects. + Manage and plan the production resources and workflow to produce the design documentation, drawings, and calculations required for engineering projects. + Act as a QC reviewer on Electrical Engineering projects. Technical Leadership: + Serves as a Lead Electrical Engineer and internal technical design expert on assigned projects. + Leads/Performs field investigations and analyses existing conditions to develop comprehensive engineering solutions. + Perform power system studies including short-circuit analysis, protective device coordination, and arc-flash studies. + Applies strong electrical engineering skills and knowledge to research and develop solutions to complex engineering challenges. + Leads or prepares required calculations to meet project requirements. + Supports project requirements including basis-of design narratives, cost estimates, drawing documentation, systems design, and technical specifications. + Collaborates with project managers and supporting design staff as part of a coordinated design team. + Actively participates in the development of junior level design staff through work on projects as well as serving as a trainer, mentor, and resource. + Maintain awareness of operational, technical, or regulatory changes within Electrical Engineering and overall, disseminate such knowledge to staff and firm, and integrate into existing processes and standards. + Maintain and update Electrical Engineering specifications, technical documentation, and standards in collaboration with other Sr. Electrical technical resources in Stantec. Oversee Electrical Engineering Design delivery process and best practices and coordinate with other disciplines. + Provide oversight for Electrical Engineering staff education and certification process & balance firm, studio and staff needs.
