Role description:
The purpose of the position is to deliver the tasks and projects assigned to you by either the Design Manager, the Principal or Senior Engineers including; inception, feasibility, preliminary, detailed design and tender management services in line with Client requirements for time, cost and quality.
Role accountabilities:
Under the technical direction of a Principal (or in some cases Senior Engineer) the Engineer shall carry out assigned design tasks on water, wastewater and drainage projects assigned to him. The Engineer shall direct and supervise the work of a number of CAD operators.
The main duties of the role include the following:
• Carry out design tasks and calculations through each design phase to the appropriate Philippines or International standards and regulations;
• Instruct and supervise up to two CAD Operators;
• Ensure that the work is undertaken in compliance with ARCADIS Quality Management System; and
• Ensure accurate reporting of time spent and deliverables achieved on all assigned tasks
This role will have specific responsibility for:
• Ensuring that all design work is carried out in accordance with ARCADIS standard operating procedures;
• Day to day liaison with members of the design Team who are working on the same projects;
• The correctness and accuracy of their own work and that of the CAD Operators;
• Completion of engineering work within assigned deadline;
• Checking and approving all drawings carried out by CAD Operators;
• Delivery of assigned tasks in line with Client expectation for time and quality;
• Reporting to the Design Manager in a timely manner any matters that are likely to affect assigned deadlines or work quality; and
• Actively sharing knowledge and experience with other staff in the Team.
Qualifications & Experience:
• Licensed Mechanical Engineer
• Experience in water / wastewater design and construction administration
• Experience in client facing role with skills to include; preparation and development of proposals, managing client expectations and overall relationship.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Excellent in MS Office applications
