Associate General Counsel, Security Legal, APAC
**Summary:** We are seeking an Associate General Counsel to work on Meta’s Asia-Pacific Security Legal Team. This is a unique opportunity to have regional and global impact while working on cutting edge and novel issues in an exciting, fast-paced environment across a range of complex regulatory, safety, security, and user data disclosure issues. In this role, you will be required to demonstrate sound legal judgment and decision making, execute quickly under tight time constraints, and navigate projects with ambiguous or complex factors. You also have a keen interest in learning and working with new technologies and laws across jurisdictions and timezones. This position is a full-time position based in Singapore. **Required Skills:** Associate General Counsel, Security Legal, APAC Responsibilities: 1. Drive strategy and provide advice on matters relating to user data disclosure in response to criminal, civil, and regulatory legal process 2. Develop, implement, and manage effective policies for processing legal requests for user data 3. Coordinate with the global Security Legal team on regional advice on product developments and infrastructure projects 4. Develop strategic approaches to managing regulatory, criminal and policy legal risks and resolving disputes in APAC 5. Work closely with the company’s safety and security teams to protect the people who use our service from abuse 6. Support legal and public policy teams’ engagement with regulators and legislators on safety and security policies 7. Collaborate with members of Public Policy, Legal, Community Operations, Product, Engineering and others on safety and security matters **Minimum Qualifications:** Minimum Qualifications: 8. J.D. or L.L.B. or equivalent degree 9. 10+ years of legal experience as a practicing attorney, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience 10. Relevant APAC regional experience engaging with law enforcement, regulators and/or legislators on regulatory, safety, security, and/or criminal matters 11. Experience regionally on issues pertaining to data disclosure and analogous international laws 12. Ability to effectively influence, communicate and collaborate cross-functionally at all levels in a time-sensitive environment 13. Ability to think strategically to solve legal challenges with attention to detail 14. Experience delivering advice under pressure and experience operating within ambiguity and prioritizing work **Preferred Qualifications:** Preferred Qualifications: 15. Experience providing guidance to providers in responding to law enforcement requests or criminal matters 16. Experience with U.S. law, including the Stored Communications Act, Wiretap Act, Pen Register/Trap and Trace Statute 17. Experience with Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty requests, Letters Rogatory, or other forms of international cooperation 18.
