WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):
Coordinate and/or provide oversight of training for Laboratory staff. Ensure training is consistent with and in compliance with laboratory standard operating procedures and American Red Cross policies. Ensure organized and complete training program utilizing input from Laboratory management and Education Department. Coordinate and track preventative maintenance and validation of equipment. Serve as point of contact for validation and implementation plans. Perform departmental Problem Management duties including investigation of problems, development and tracking of corrective actions and effectiveness checks, and ensure timelines are met. Act as a Suspect Product Core Team member. Write and coordinate revisions to procedural and training documents. Provide support, development and/or leadership guidance to all volunteers.
Perform all duties and responsibilities in compliance with standard operating procedures and other applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):
Coordinate training with the Education Department, laboratory management, trainers, and staff. Oversee department training activities and staff as directed. Assist in evaluation of training effectiveness and development of training curricula. As directed, document training and competency activities in system. Perform competency assessments of laboratory staff annually and as needed. Provide documented communications to staff as required by transmittal sheets and implementation plans. Grade tests within training tools and maintain appropriate documentation.Monitor the training progress of staff, adjusting the training program as necessary to meet the needs of the laboratory and the individual in training. Report trainee progress to laboratory management.Act as departmental lead for transmittal and document package implementations. May develop orparticipate in change management plans.Serve as point of contact for problems, corrective actions, and effectiveness checks. Attend root cause analysismeetings as assigned and ensure Problem Management timelines are met. Process any combinationof reports which may include: customer complaints, material review board process, supply and equipmentproblem deficiency reports.Serve as point of contact for validation and implementation plans. Coordinate, assign, and track equipmentpreventive maintenance schedules and validations.Write and maintain departmental operating procedures to assure compliance with regulatory agencies. Consult with technical team leads and subject matter experts to ensure accurate and complete documents. May assist Education Department in development or revision of Training Implementation Plans. May perform annual review of procedures and version control.Archive departmental records in accordance with guidelines and AABB Standards.Pay Information: $60-75k (depending on experience and qualifications)Shift Information: Day ShiftWHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science or related field required. Technical training as MT / MLT / BB is desired.Experience: Minimum 3 years blood bank, transfusion service, pharmaceutical, or biomedical laboratory experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required. Blood center experience, training and quality assurance experience preferred.Management Experience: N/ASkills & Abilities: Excellent organizational skills, the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively, analyze problems and recommend appropriate solutions and ability to assimilate information quickly is required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to deal with all levels of staff is required. Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database applications; presentation applications preferred. Ability to work on a team.Travel: May involve some travel.BENEFITS FOR YOU:
