The DuPont Electronics and Industrial business (E&I) is a world leader in the electronic materials and advanced printing markets. The E&I Leveraged R&D Applied Engineering Team provides a broad range of specialized mechanical and electrical engineering expertise to advance the execution of new product and application engineering programs and improve the performance of E&I manufacturing assets.
We are seeking an Associate Investigator-Mechanical Design Engineer with demonstrated experience in the design, development and integration of complex robotic (automated) machinery and industrial components.
JOB DESCRIPTION (functional responsibilities):
This role reports to the E&I Applied Engineering, Equipment Development Team Leader and provides engineering, design and integration support in a team specializing in the development of First-Of-A-Kind machinery and Application Engineering.
This role will require executing a wide range of technical tasks; Some specific responsibilities will include
Conceptual development of First-Of-A-Kind machinery and robotic systemsRapid prototyping, testing and refinement of conceptual designsDetailed design of mechanical systems and hardwarePrecision assembly and testing of complex mechatronic systemsDocumenting and presenting designs and project updates within the team and to customersManagement of multiple tasks - for multiple stakeholders - with frequent changes in scope and priorityAdhering to safety standards and proceduresProgramming of automated equipmentMinimum Qualifications
