Associate Laboratory Assistant

The Lab Aide I is responsible for completing and maintaining competency in phlebotomy, specimen processing, and basic client service tasks. As a phlebotomist, the expectation is to obtain blood samples from patients in a timely manner while following proper collection policy. Completion of phlebotomy competency will be required after 3 months of starting in this position. As a specimen processor, the aide will ensure appropriate labeling has occurred and handle specimen according to policy. Completion of Specimen processing competency will be required after 3 months of starting in this position.The basic client service tasks entail: requisition entry, requisition checks, and filing. Completion of basic client service competency will be required after 1 year of starting in this position. The Lab Aide I will also perform other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications: 

Phlebotomy certificate upon hire.  Less than one year experience as a phlebotomist and/or completion of a Phlebotomy program.
