Associate Laboratory Technician

This individual will be responsible for performing the technical aspects of assigned tests in compliance with GLP, USDA and AAALAC guidelines.

 

Position Details:

Temporary to Hire - This position will not be eligible for employee benefits until conversion to permanent employeeAnticipated compensation: $19 per hourSunday to Thursday 7 AM to 3:30 PM (Training on Monday to Friday) Responsibilities

• Performs various tests that may include injections, patching and wrapping, implantation of test substances, observations, necropsies and withdrawing and collecting bodily fluids, following internal SOP/protocol guidelines.
• Handles animals humanely.
• Prepares animals for testing, which may include shaving, weighing, identifying and anesthetizing the animals.
• Works on routine assignments per written procedures, where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required.
• Normally receives minimal instructions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
• Works under close supervision from supervisor or senior personnel.
• Ability to work in a team environment and independently as required.
• May be required to work Holidays and weekends.
• May be required to work overtime.
• Contributes to the overall operations and to the achievement of departmental goals.
• Perform job specific tasks in compliance with applicable Regulations, International Standards, and WuXi AppTec Policies and Standard Operating Procedures.
• Thorough understanding of Good Laboratory Practices and Good Manufacturing Practices.
• Other duties as assigned.
• May be required to assist in other departments.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience
• Animal Science background
• GLP/GMP experience
• Associates Degree or equivalent
• CVT certification preferred
• AALAS certification preferred

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:
• Proficient in Oral & Written communication skills
• Need to be able to read, write and understand English
• Proficient in Microsoft (Excel, Word, Outlook)
