Associate Lean Leader

Shift: 1st

Position Summary:
As a key member of the lean enterprise team, this position is responsible for leading cross-functional teams through lean (kaizen) events that rapidly apply the lean tools to achieve improvements in business process environments.  Activities are strategically aligned and achieve organizational-level change. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

•    Deployment and use of the Swagelok Improvement System in business process environments including all lean, business process excellence, variation reduction, project management, and change catalyst tools.
•    Lead events and/or medium size improvement projects focused on improvements in business process environments according to the appropriate methodology.
•    Participate in the assessment, prioritization, and selection •    Co-develop goals and deliverables with sponsor. 
•    Participate in the selection and development of resources.
•    Develop timelines and track progress.
•    Assure the realization of all deliverables.
•    Coordinate and conduct reviews with sponsor & key stakeholders
•    Transition project and project value measurement to the line of business.
•    Solve complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions, interprets customer needs, assesses requirements and identifies solutions to nonstandard requests.
•    Explain difficult issues and works to build consensus
•    Anticipate and initiate change, responding resourcefully and constructively
•    Work to overcome any barriers to change
•    Motivate and lead positive change in all levels of the company, without direct reporting relationships
•    Recognize value of collaboration and is able to effectively leverage different opinions and experiences to solve problems and accomplish tasks/goals.
•    Demonstrate a strong understanding of lean & business process improvement tools, methods and principles and a good understanding of those offered across Continuous Improvement; integrate latest technology and thinking into tasks, work product and processes;  mentor and coach others about lean and business process concepts.
•    Train subject matter experts on the appropriate methodologies in the Swagelok Improvement System and Business Process Excellence Program.
•    Act as a mentor and trainer for Swagelok management, event sponsors, line of business leaders, event participants and other associates as they learn the business process excellence and lean tools and develop a culture of continuous improvement
•    Participate in the development of the Swagelok Improvement System including all lean, variation reduction, project management, and change catalyst tools.
