Overview The EMEA Legal Team of Foot Locker is an international team composed by 10 team members with diverse legal backgrounds; we cover a wide range of legal, strategic, and business issues in the EMEA region. Currently, we are recruiting a full-time Associate Legal Counsel specialized in Privacy and Compliance to work in a dynamic industry and join an international legal department. The Associate Legal Counsel will have a Privacy and Compliance background and will cover the central business based in The Netherlands; the Associate Legal Counsel will also work on and (pro-actively) lead Pan European & International projects, with the support of the external counsels. The work of the Associate Legal Counsel includes managing one data privacy specialist. Working in this team, you must be comfortable with understanding how various legal systems work and be able to understand the core of the matters, but also, be precise, have a healthy dose of common sense, and be able to make good decisions. Responsibilities Responsibilities · Be a team player, attend legal department meetings and team activities. · Provide day-to-day assistance in matters within the spectrum of Privacy and, partially, Compliance (including specific local legislation, such as the Italian Law 231). · Be a business partner for, among others, E-commerce, Loyalty, Digital Marketing and Customer Experience departments. · Update Privacy notices, advising on DPA/SCC, DPIA, and other privacy related assessments. · Manage one team member with the role of data privacy specialist. · Alignment across the global legal department to make Privacy related decisions. · Respond quickly and accurately to all requests and assignments, without neglecting quality. · Manage time in order to reach the department’s or company’s deadline. Qualifications Qualifications · University degree in law obtained from a European university and approximately 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in a law firm or as in-house legal, with experience in Privacy and Compliance. · Previous studying and working experience abroad are highly appreciated. · Fluent in English and another European language is required (preferable French or German), both written and oral. · Excellent communication and presentation skills. · A balanced, no-nonsense personality with a strong will to succeed and with interpersonal skills. · Good judgement, high level of integrity. · Willing to roll up the sleeves if needed and take charge of operational matters even if these are not legal. · Able to present complex matters not only with a very detailed and fact-based approach but also be able to present this in a very easy to understand manner. · Strong will to succeed and with interpersonal skills.
