Associate Manager, Customer Business Development

Position Overview: 

Under the guidance of the Senior Manager, the Associate Manager will be responsible for executing Revlon's Mass strategy and initiatives at Shopper Drugs Mart & Loblaws to deliver business goals. The primary focus will be on flawless execution of programs, managing trade budgets, maintaining knowledge of market share and sales volume, optimizing Revlon’s in-store impact, and improving our competitive position more profitably through more efficient and effective promotional and pricing strategies.

In addition to these core responsibilities, the Associate Manager will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders (Operations/Customer Logistics, Demand Planning, and Marketing) to proactively manage perfect in-store execution.

The position requires a solid understanding of account management and the ability to build an integrated Revlon/customer go-to-market strategy.  This position will liaise with various levels of the Revlon organization and the customer to ensure excellence in execution at the head office and store levels.

Major Duties: 

Account Management:

Execution, monitoring, and reporting of an annual promotional trade strategy. Utilizes strong customer focus to understand key drivers of business and action customer needs across all categories. Establish and leverage strong internal and external relationships to support business objectives across all categories. Work with SDM/LCL CBD Coordinator to evaluate display assortment and quantities for SDM & LCL based on sales fundamentals and store cluster analysis, to improve customer acceptance, and maximize sales potential. Adapt sell-in materials for Loblaws. Determine necessary post-promotion analysis and utilize insights and recommendations for future planning. Evaluate seasonality opportunities for in-store activities that deliver optimal Revlon presence. Integrates Revlon’s corporate strategy with customer’s go-to-market strategy. Inputs and maintains up-to-date forecasts (POS, GSV, MDF) to: Track and plan account progress Identify, develop, and implement business-building strategic plans Forecast by specific brand Confirms and negotiates account-specific programs. Contribution to the P/L management of SDM/Loblaws through to the year/quarterly forecast and analysis of Gross Ship, MDF, Returns and Net Sales against objectives with Sr. Manager. Administers the Market Development Fund (MDF) for the customer’s cosmetic brands to ensure account profitability. Determines financial needs based on business plans Analyze payback on the incremental investment required in collaboration with Analyst. Tracks actual investment vs. plan to ensure budget adherence Processes account claims/deductions on an ongoing and timely basis Works in strong collaboration with Merchandising team, 3rd Party merchandizers for all reline, NSO, relocation initiatives maintenance on store list and POG size, monthly bulletin, and initiates all requests. Must maintain in-depth knowledge of business performance of POS across all businesses including relevant business drivers, year-over-year lapping dynamics, competitive impact, and space change impact. Must maintain a comprehensive understanding of category dynamics inclusive of competitive context and retailer dynamics

Administration:

Update Promotions Tracking report, providing timely and accurate information. Completing ad hoc analysis and/or tracking reports as required. Accountable for submission of listing/communication for new products, relines and prepack for Loblaws as well as ongoing communication related to all customer specific listing programs, including: Markdown and Returns Forms Planogram Reline forms and tracking Responsible for project management of aspects of new store initiatives & store maintenance including: Collaboration with Merchandising, Customer Service to ensure every door open is complete and on time, flagging risks, including missing fixtures, testers and store maintenance issues

Performs other related duties as required.


Education & Experience

Post-secondary education in a related field, plus a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in sales, category management, product event planning, and in-store execution within the Consumer-Packaged Goods industry. Experience with SDM/LCL & Cosmetics experience would be an asset.

The base pay range for this position in Mississauga is $80,000 and $95,000/year; however base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge, and location. Certain positions may also be eligible for short and/or long-term incentives as part of total compensation.
