About the Team

The team collaborates with Workday on Workday (WoW) and Product teams to enhance, test, and adopt Workday functionality.
About the Role
Workday is seeking an Expense Manager who can lead and develop a team of analysts and who wants to make their mark on a growing organization. The candidate should be a strong communicator, able to manage multiple team tasks and target timelines, assist with issue resolution, have strong leadership skills, drive departmental process improvements, and display a high level of organizational skills. This position will be responsible for delivering efficiencies, creating new value, and managing proper SOX controls & escalation protocols while driving positive employee experience throughout the organization.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Lead a team of three to five Expense Analysts
Oversee successful completion of team month end tasks and responsibilities
Responsible for review and approval of system transactions
Provide accounting and control environment (SOX) guidance to team and projects
First escalation point for unresolved Expense matters
Complete regular performance management activities with employees including the completion of career and development plans, goal setting, and performance reviews
Responsible for ensuring that staff are adequately trained in system functionality and departmental procedures
Lead projects that drive departmental initiatives, scale processes and implement system functionality
Drive process improvement, build efficiencies, and innovate
Work to form positive relationships with internal business partners and external vendors
Active participant in delivering on accounting and organization goals
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or relevant field
4+ years finance operations/accounting experience
2-3 years of leadership experience
Other Qualifications:
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Excellent and professional written and verbal communication skills
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a fast-pace, collaborative environment
Demonstrates initiative, flexibility and follow-through
Attention to detail, accuracy, and strong analytical problem-solving skills
Proven experience in leading employees in identifying and implementing process improvements
Demonstrated ability to interface with all levels of management
Shown accounting and controls experience
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
Customer service focused and solution oriented
Strong digital literacy including Microsoft Office tools
Software and/or SaaS industry experience highly preferred
Familiar with conducting business as part of an international company is helpful
